Elboy Proton General Manager Berkin Ekiz: "Elboy Combined Three Systems with Its Own Know-How"
Elboy combines three systems into one machine for a powder and wet coating facility spanning 1,500 m2 at an aluminum and steel construction company in France.
Elboy, which carries out manufacturing with a new CNC machine line at its 2,000 square-meter enclosed factory in Çatalca, recently provided a solution to Ardenn Laquage, a company based in Charleville-Mézières, France, operating in aluminum PVC window joinery, steel construction and building work. Berkin Ekiz, Environmental Engineer and General Manager of Elboy Proton Powder Coating and Wet Coating Systems, provided information on the project: "Our customer requested a facility from us for their powder and wet coating operations in their region. For this facility, we examined the systems created by our competitors in Europe and combined them with our own know-how to design a system suited to our customer's requirements. We used a bar transfer system that emphasizes fuel and energy efficiency, which is generally used in Europe, and installed a facility covering 1,500 square meters. We had previously created many systems related to bar transfer systems. We also sold these to many countries. But this is the largest one we've made," he said."We Did This for the First Time in Turkey"
Ekiz provided information on the processes of the facility installed in the 1,500 square-meter area: "Here we have a manual blasting booth, followed by an automatic washing room. We have a drying oven, a powder coating booth and finally a baking oven. On the opposite side of the entire system are our bar parking areas. Next to the parking areas, we have an elevator system that we created differently from companies producing bar transfer systems in Turkey. Many companies use this in Europe. We did this for the first time in Turkey. To be able to hang high, heavy and large products, the rails on the elevator are lowered. Our customers hang their materials there, press the button, and once the rails reach the same level as the system, they can take the bar into whichever booth they want inside the system and apply the process they wish," he said.Legal Limits Not Exceeded
Ekiz, explaining that they developed the design of three washing machines they saw abroad with their own know-how, said the following about the machine's structure: "Many systems related to this have been created worldwide and we examined most of them. Finally, we combined the important designs of three machines we saw and created a single machine. We also added our own innovation to it. We manufactured a system that uses six different chemicals and performs mechanical abrasion and chemical abrasion together in a single chamber, and we created a structure where no chemicals would mix with each other. At the same time, another important point is that we created a structure that would not exceed the amount of chemicals permitted to be stored in the factory without exceeding legal limits. Limits regarding chemicals permitted to be stored inside factories are legally determined. When you exceed these legal limits, you need to obtain an Environmental Impact Assessment report from the relevant authorities. In this machine we made, legal limits are not exceeded, so you can use it without needing to obtain a report," he said.Processes Carried Out in 500-Liter Tanks
Elboy completed this system from production to installation in seven months and received various commendations during the project. Berkin Ekiz added that a distributor of a leading brand in the sector in France personally inspected the facility and commended them, stating they had never seen such a chemical washing system before. He explained the advantages for users as follows: "First, we provide companies with an advantage regarding the permits they will receive from the state. Additionally, we created a system capable of washing both iron and aluminum simultaneously. With six different chemicals, it is possible to use each without them mixing with each other. And these operations take place in tanks with a maximum capacity of 500 liters. Conventional spray washing lines require tanks of 3 to 5 tons. We perform these operations with 500-liter tanks. These tanks automatically supply pure water and chemical feed between each other. At the same time, it can automatically obtain its own water from the pure water unit. In short, you don't need to touch anything in the system. The system completes its own water supply, measures its own pH... If aluminum is to be washed, you press the aluminum button on the screen, if iron is to be washed, you press the iron button, that's all there is to it!"Advertisement
