Eti Bakır Delivers Environmental Training to 7,154 Students Through "Environmental Inspectors" Project

Eti Bakır, placing people and a sustainable future at the centre of its production activities, continues its work towards a sustainable future. Acting on the importance of building environmental awareness at an early age, Eti Bakır's 'Environmental Inspectors' project visited 82 schools during the 2024-2025 academic year and contributed to the awareness of 4,448 students about a sustainable future. Through the project, which has been running since 2021, a total of 7,154 students have been educated about the environment.

Eti Bakır, a group company of Cengiz Holding and a driving force of the Turkish economy through value-added production, continues its efforts centred on people. The company completed another year of its 'Environmental Inspectors' project, aimed at strengthening environmental awareness among children and youth, contributing to the development of students as environmentally conscious individuals. Eti Bakır reached 4,448 students in 82 schools across 6 provinces—Kastamonu, Artvin, Siirt, Adıyaman, İzmir and Mardin—through education covering 11 topics including environmental awareness, nature conservation and recycling. Since the project was launched in 2021 at the Mazıdağı Metal Recovery and Integrated Fertilizer Facilities, the company has reached a total of 7,154 children across all its operations.

Eti Bakır continues to implement the 'Environmental Inspectors' project across all its facilities with determination, aimed at raising awareness among children and youth on environmental issues and increasing public awareness. During the 2024-2025 academic year, 335 students in 6 schools in Adıyaman, 853 students in 8 schools in Artvin (Cerattepe and Murgul), 1,000 students in 11 schools in İzmir, 400 students in 6 schools in Kastamonu, 1,310 students in 48 schools in Mardin and 550 students in 3 schools in Siirt were educated through comprehensive programmes covering environmental awareness, recycling, water and energy conservation, and zero waste.

Continuing to Build a Sustainable Future
Yusuf Topçu, Environment Director at Eti Bakır, spoke about the importance of introducing children and youth to the environment and sustainability at an early age, stating "We have concluded another academic year. We understand the value of raising awareness among children at an early age for a sustainable future. Our 'Environmental Inspectors' project, which we launched for this purpose, continues at full speed. We have engaged with children and youth in our cities where Eti Bakır facilities are located. Together with our environmental engineer colleagues and our students, we continue to build a sustainable future. This project shows our students the importance of environmental awareness while also demonstrating our responsibility. In the years ahead, we aim to continue our efforts with more children and young people on topics such as nature conservation and recycling."
