'Health Ambassadors of Our Home' Project Continues to Raise Awareness of Preventable Diseases
Sanofi Pasteur's unconditional sponsorship support enables the Contemporary and Independent Mutual Aid Association (ÇABA) to launch the "Our Home's Health Ambassadors" Project, which emphasizes the importance of correct information for disease prevention and healthy living.
The tenth training meeting organized within the scope of the project was held at Üsküdar Bağlarbaşı Congress and Culture Center, moderated by Balçiçek İlter. At the meeting, Prof. Dr. Çağlar Çuhadaroğlu and Dr. Özlem Cankurtaran provided useful information on infection prevention and healthy living, while comedian and author Kaan Sekban shared personal experiences related to the topic.
Emphasizing the importance of vaccination, Prof. Dr. Çağlar Çuhadaroğlu stated that the impact of the influenza virus this year may last longer than expected and that it is not yet too late to be vaccinated.
Noting that the influenza virus can develop into pneumonia in people aged 70 and over and that pneumonia currently causes death in 20% of cases, Çuhadaroğlu said that people especially in this age group absolutely must be vaccinated.
Ten Training Sessions Held in Five Provinces Under the Project
Emphasizing that the project aims to disseminate health awareness beginning with the family to benefit society, ÇABA Association President Özlem Zehebi spoke as follows: "Through the Our Home's Health Ambassadors project, we reach many regions and explain the importance of health awareness beginning with the family to the large crowds who welcome us with interest. It is very important for us to be with you on this path we have taken for the common good. If we are well, our surroundings will be well. As ÇABA Association, we strive to ensure that our children are safe and healthy." The project encompasses training programs conducted in different provinces of Turkey to create a 'Health Ambassador' in every home. Through these programs, mothers are informed and health awareness beginning with the family is aimed to contribute to society. Participants in the training are issued the 'Our Home's Health Ambassador' certificate, and regular information sessions continue to help these ambassadors raise awareness among people in their surroundings. Awareness-raising efforts are also supported through social media and website channels with messages and doctor presentations. These training sessions ensure that a broad audience is educated on health literacy.Advertisement
