Evonik's VESTAMID® NRG Polyamide 12 Thermoplastic for Natural Gas Distribution Pipeline Project
Evonik Corporation's High-Performance Polymers business unit welcomed the final ruling by the U.S. Department of Transportation Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA), which amends the Federal Pipeline Safety Regulations for plastic piping systems to include updated standards regarding the use of pipes manufactured from polyamide 12 (PA12) thermoplastic.

The addition of polyamide 12 to federal regulations introduces new material options that provide proven, safe and cost-effective alternatives for local natural gas distributors seeking to lay new, repaired or modified pipelines operating at a maximum of 250 psig."
