Kimpur inaugurated its new production facility worth TRY 400 million in the Düzce Gümüşova Organized Industrial Zone. The opening ceremony of Kimpur's Düzce production facility was attended by Düzce Mayor Faruk Özlü, Düzce Deputy Mayor Hasan Gündem, İKMİB Chairman Adil Pelister, Kimpur Board Chairman Leon Mizrahi, and Kimpur CEO Cavidan Karaca. In line with its sustainable growth objectives, Kimpur decided to establish a new production facility in Düzce after determining that its existing facilities in Gebze could not support expansion plans. The facility, built in partnership with Pekintaş A.Ş., had 30,000 tons of capacity brought online in July. The facility, distinguished by its strategy to optimize production processes using renewable and environmentally friendly energy sources, will increase Kimpur's capacity to a total of 65,000 tons and contribute significantly to the Turkish chemical industry. The production facility was officially opened with a ceremony held on Tuesday, 3 October. The ceremony was attended by Düzce Mayor Faruk Özlü, Düzce Deputy Mayor Hasan Gündem, İKMİB Chairman Adil Pelister, Pekintaş Group CEO Özhan Olcay, Kimplast Board Member Sinan Sungur, Polyder Board Chairman Müge Pınar, TASEV Chairman Yılmaz Polat, AYSAD Chairman Sait Salıcı, and Retired General Alpaslan Erdoğan. Implemented as part of a vision prioritizing sustainability principles, the factory also brought a solar power plant into operation with total investment costs exceeding TRY 400 million. Through this step, Kimpur is reducing energy costs in production and strengthening its competitive position in export and domestic markets. At the same time, Kimpur targets meeting approximately 55 percent of electricity consumption at the facility and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 679 tons annually. The new investment includes, in addition to Kimpur's existing 50,000 tons of polyurethane systems, a dedicated recycling facility for polyester polyol synthesized from PET waste constituting a 5,000-ton green product range, and an additional 10,000 tons of EVA granule raw material capacity within Kimpast, a Kimpur affiliate. This production capacity is planned to be achieved during the 2024-2025 period. For the new production facility in Düzce, Kimpur partnered with Pekintaş A.Ş., and worked with renowned architect Nevzat Sayın on the project design. "Our New Production Hub in Düzce Reflects Our Innovation and Sustainability Principles" Kimpur Board Chairman Leon Mizrahi spoke at the opening of the new production facility. Mizrahi noted that the company has strengthened its leading position with the opening of the 65,000-ton capacity plant in Düzce and continued: "We are delighted to open our 65,000-ton capacity production facility in Düzce, where we will utilize solar energy as a renewable and clean energy source in production and develop environmentally friendly solutions. Our new production hub in Düzce reflects our innovation and sustainability principles. This investment increases our future growth potential while demonstrating our responsibility to the environment. Our new production facility in Düzce not only contributes to our own growth but also demonstrates our responsibility to the environment and society." "We Draw Closer Each Day to Our Goal of Entering the Top 10 System Houses Worldwide" Kimpur CEO Cavidan Karaca stated in her remarks at the ceremony: "With our 25,000-ton capacity facility in Europe, our 130,000-ton capacity facility in Gebze, Turkey, and our new 65,000-ton capacity production facility in Düzce, which we brought 30,000 tons online in July, we have increased our production capacity to over 200,000 tons and hold the position of the region's largest polyurethane producer. We draw closer each day to our goal of entering the top 10 system houses worldwide. This new production facility is an important step in supporting growth in Turkey's chemical industry and strengthening our leadership in sustainable production. As Kimpur, we not only lead in the sector but also remain committed to the sustainability principle to fulfill our responsibility to the environment and society. This new facility represents a step that takes this principle to the highest level and reflects our commitment to environmental sustainability. At the same time, our Düzce facility provides space and infrastructure opportunities to serve as a production center for new product groups we can target."
