Chemical Industry to Enter New Year with USD 14.425 Billion Export Growth
Istanbul Chemical Substances and Products Exporters Association (İKMİB) reported that chemical exports in November reached USD 1.509 billion. The chemistry sector's exports over the eleven-month period reached USD 14.425 billion.
In the ranking of countries with the highest exports in November, Egypt ranked first with USD 93.686 million in exports, Iraq came second with USD 91.724 million in exports, and Germany came third with USD 80.477 million in exports.
As of November, the chemistry sector's exports increased by 8.33 percent compared to November 2017, reaching USD 1.509 billion. In the ranking of countries where chemical exports were conducted in November, Egypt, Iraq, Germany, USA, the Netherlands, Spain, Italy, the United Kingdom, Iran and Greece ranked in the top ten.
Turkey's chemistry industry, an important item of the country's exports, achieved exports of USD 14.425 billion in the eleven-month period of 2018, increasing by 8.11 percent compared to the same period of 2017. During this period, the countries with the highest exports include Germany, Egypt, Iraq, Spain, USA, Italy, the United Kingdom, Greece, the Netherlands and Iran.

Adil Pelister, Chairman of the Board of İKMİB, emphasized that the chemistry sector, which shows a successful growth chart, is approaching the 2018 target.
Pelister, pointing out that November achieved exports of USD 1.509 billion with an increase of 8.33 percent compared to November 2017, stated: "Our sector exports showed an 8 percent increase in the eleven-month period compared to the same period last year.
We know that Turkey will emerge from the economic struggle through working together and we continue to succeed on our target path with this mission. We are working to increase our exports.
As İKMİB, we support our companies in all matters that will increase their exports. With the great efforts of our companies in the chemistry sector, we aim to close this year with exports exceeding USD 17 billion," he said.
Most Chemical Exports Made to Egypt
Egypt was the country with the most exports in November. Chemical exports to Egypt reached USD 93.686 million in November 2018. In November, "mineral fuels, mineral oils and products," "miscellaneous chemical substances," "washing preparations," "inorganic chemicals," "adhesives, glues, enzymes" and "paints, varnishes, inks and preparations" were mostly exported to Egypt. The eleven-month chemical exports to Egypt this year reached USD 867.150 million, while other countries in the top ten following Egypt in the sector's November exports are: Iraq, Germany, USA, the Netherlands, Spain, Italy, the United Kingdom, Iran and Greece.Advertisement
