Koruma Şirketler Grubu Awarded for Large Solar Project The Factories Generating Their Own Energy Summit and Exhibition attracted numerous companies. Koruma Şirketler Grubu, adding to its energy sector work with a project to build a 30 MW solar power plant in Gaziantep, earned the "Efficiency Award" at the summit. Koruma Şirketler Grubu, one of Turkey's leading chemical companies, is implementing measures toward renewable energy sources to meet the high energy requirements necessary for production. As Koruma Klor Alkali, it is preparing to build a 30 MW solar power plant in the Islahiye district of Gaziantep province.

Project Deemed Worthy of Efficiency Award at Summit

The project, part of Koruma Şirketler Grubu's efforts to reduce carbon footprint and continue operations with an environmentally conscious roadmap, was deemed worthy of the "Efficiency Award" at the Factories Generating Their Own Energy Summit and Exhibition.
"Approximately 60 Million KWH of Electricity Expected to be Generated Annually"
At the award ceremony, in a discussion moderated by Erim Hısım, Koruma Klor Alkali Electrical Engineer and Energy Manager Ali Sait Berat Güneşli provided information about the project: "We have begun work to build a 30 MW solar power plant over an area of 550,000 m² in the Islahiye district of Gaziantep. The necessary land acquisitions for the power plant have been completed, and our work on the facility's installation processes is proceeding at full speed. According to simulation studies conducted, the power plant is expected to generate approximately 60 million kWh of electricity annually," he said. Güneşli noted that they continue with land acquisitions and work to implement the solar projects, stating: "Feasibility studies have been completed for the roofs at our facilities in Kocaeli, Hatay and Denizli, and we have begun the installation of solar panels on the roofs of our factories. In this scope, particularly the Gaziantep project, our work on renewable energy has been deemed worthy of the Efficiency Award at the Factories Generating Their Own Energy Summit," he said.
"We Will Continue Our Work with an Innovative Perspective"
Expressing great satisfaction that the project has been crowned with such a meaningful award, Güneşli stated: "As one of the most established institutions in Turkey's chemical sector, we will continue our work with an innovative perspective, reducing carbon footprint and pursuing an environmentally conscious roadmap," he said.
