GEBKİM's Emergency Response Software Wins Another Award GEBKİM, Turkey's first chemistry-focused organized industrial zone, has been recognised with a "Productivity Award" in sustainability at the Energy-Producing Factories Summit for its 'Emergency Response Software' – which will deploy autonomous unmanned aerial vehicles to detect emergencies, respond to incidents, assess risks and determine damage. Recalling that the project had previously been awarded first place by TİSK, GEBKİM OSB Board Chairman V. İbrahim Aracı stated, "In the exemplary ecosystem we have built on the principles of city, people and environment, we attach great importance to occupational health alongside production. We will continue to employ all technological possibilities in accident prevention and emergency response." GEBKİM OSB, known as Turkey's first Chemistry-Focused Organized Industrial Zone, has secured another award for its "Innovative Step for Emergency Action in the Chemical Sector: Emergency Response Software" project, which has been in development for approximately 18 months to prevent workplace accidents and emergencies. GEBKİM OSB has been recognised with a "Productivity Award" in sustainability at the "Energy-Producing Factories Summit" for this first-of-its-kind project developed in Turkey.

Awarded First Place by TİSK

Within the scope of the project, which won first place in the Occupational Health and Safety category in the 'Shared Futures Awards' given by Turkey's Confederation of Employer Associations (TİSK) to jointly create shared futures, GEBKİM OSB will deploy unmanned aerial vehicles that will operate autonomously with artificial intelligence to prevent potential accidents and enable intervention before fires escalate. Immediate response to emergencies within the OSB will also be possible.

"Training Provided to 1,820 People"

At the award ceremony, GEBKİM Training Manager Nisa Y. Yılmaz, speaking about the project, said: "During the 18-month period from installation to activation, training was provided to all GEBKİM and participating company emergency teams on critical topics for the chemical sector including basic first aid, emergency response training, fire risk assessment, chemical spills and leaks, and fire response. Through a programme comprising 12 training modules and 3 seminars, training given to approximately 2,000 people strengthened the individual and institutional capacities of employers and employees."

GEBKİM OSB Board Chairman V. İbrahim Aracı, expressing great satisfaction with the project's awards, commented: "We have realised an ecosystem that protects our nature and human labour – GEBKİM OSB. In the exemplary ecosystem we have built on the principles of city, people and environment, we attach great importance to occupational health alongside production. One outcome of our approach is the 'Emergency Response Software' project that was recognised with an award by TİSK. In addition to having emergency response units that stand ready to address all potential adversities, we wanted to have a system that would alert them immediately and monitor accident and fire development. We have succeeded in this and activated the project at our OSB in recent months. We are delighted that our work has been recognised on numerous platforms in a short time. We will continue to employ all technological possibilities in accident prevention and emergency response."
