'Women Transforming Health' Program Graduates 100

Women in Pharmacy and Technology Association (Wtech) provided free training in Marketing and Sales Technologies, Business Analysis and Gamification to 100 young women in their final year or recently graduated from Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and Information Technology departments at universities and vocational schools, under its "Women Transforming Healthcare" project. The 100 young women qualified for graduation from the program following the training. Through training provided by the Women in Technology Association, 100 young women graduating from four training classes were given priority opportunities for internships and employment in the healthcare sector.

Santa Farma İlaç Vice President of Strategic Planning and Operations Sami Kiresepi made the following remarks on the subject:

"As we all know, globalization, climate change, demographic shifts, technological development and digital transformation are affecting and changing the socio-economic infrastructure of all countries. The business world is also affected by these changes, and practices that were considered correct until now are undergoing transformation. It is becoming increasingly difficult for the business world and educational institutions to keep pace with accelerating technological developments and digital transformations. Furthermore, it is evident that the pandemic accelerated digitalization and automation in the business world. By acting with agility, the business world was forced to rapidly utilize all the capabilities of digital technology to maintain continuity. Despite this, a skills gap of serious proportions has begun to emerge in all countries. This skills gap has become a mega trend that also affects the growth potential of companies and economies. Therefore, in addition to quality vocational education, the necessity of on-the-job and lifelong learning and increasing technological competencies has taken an important place on the business agenda. These trends in the business world significantly affect female employees as well. We are a company that has managed to increase the proportion of female managers and above to 50 percent within our organization. We take pride in adopting leadership on this matter as a social responsibility. We are pleased to lead projects like this and similar initiatives that contribute to increasing female employment and the proportion of female managers in our country and in the pharmaceutical sector. Women in Technology Association Founder Board President Zehra Öney said the following:

"The pandemic period demonstrated to the entire world that people producing and leading in the healthcare field hold great importance. Turkey has enormous potential in this area. As a country and sector, we believe that women in Turkey, by specializing in technology in the healthcare field, will create great strength in robotic processes and research and development activities. In the field of cybersecurity, the Data Breach Investigations Report 2021 published annually by Verizon clearly demonstrates the increase in data breaches. It shows that compared to 2019, the most significant increase in data breaches occurred in the healthcare sector. Considering the cybersecurity challenges frequently faced by a sector experiencing such a significant 71 percent increase, companies being strong in technical subjects such as cybersecurity and robotic processes will significantly affect our country's health tourism and healthcare exports economically. Furthermore, women strengthened in technology will add important economic power to the country's gross domestic product. For this reason, under the leadership of a strong healthcare organization like Santa Farma İlaç, we at the Women in Technology Association set out to train women expert in healthcare and technology. After a very successful training period, we have graduated our first cohort. We have unlimited confidence that our graduates will be role models and influential in this field. We wish to continue our work with the same enthusiasm and strength. As the Women in Technology Association, we will continue our work and this important project led by Santa Farma İlaç in accordance with these principles with determination, enthusiasm and strength. We congratulate the 100 women graduates and hope that investments in human resources in this field will increase."
