KSO's 14th Sectoral Performance Assessment Award

Kocaeli Chamber of Industry (KSO) held its 14th annual "Sectoral Performance Assessment" event to recognize and promote successful industrial enterprises in the Marmara Region. Award-winning companies received their prizes at the ceremony. Deputy Governor Abdul Rauf Ulusoy, speaking at the awards ceremony, noted that Kocaeli is a bright star in Turkey, ranks second in exports, and has a high level of industrial income.

Kocaeli: a large industrial family

Ulusoy stated, "I have only this to say to business leaders: as the Provincial Administration, we are always by your side and will continue to provide support. We truly thank our chairman Ayhan for this excellent work. God willing, this will continue. Not only award winners but also non-winners are valuable in our eyes. As Kocaeli, we are a large industrial family. For this reason, we also congratulate our other colleagues." Ayhan Zeytinoğlu, Vice Chairman of the Board of Management of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) and Chairman of Kocaeli Chamber of Industry (KSO), recalled that the chamber had previously awarded income tax payers and export record holders. He noted that they differentiated this organization by converting it into the Sectoral Performance Award Organization, and that they were presenting the 14th edition of these awards. Zeytinoğlu stated that companies are evaluated "360 degrees" across 7 categories: "productivity," "employment," "innovation and branding," "financial results," "foreign trade," "employee development and awareness," and "social contribution and environment." He noted that starting next year, they plan to include "carbon measurement and verification" under the "social contribution and environment" criterion. Zeytinoğlu recalled that the organization was held only in the Kocaeli region in 2008 and 2009 across 10 sectors, expanded to Eastern Marmara as of 2010, and to the Marmara Region as of 2015. He stated that they aim to hold the awards organization nationwide. At the program, representatives of 24 award-winning companies received SME and Large-Scale Enterprise Awards. This year's Grand Prize went to Sistem Teknik Sanayi Fırınları AŞ in the SME category and Nuh Çimento Sanayi AŞ in the Large-Scale Enterprise category.
