Furniture, Paper and Forest Products Sector Exports Reach $7.2 Billion

Türkiye Exporters Assembly (TİM) announced Turkey's export figures for November 2024. Turkey's exports in November were recorded at USD 22.3 billion. The furniture, paper and forest products sector, which exported USD 690 million in the previous month, achieved USD 671 million in exports in November. While the sector reached USD 7.2 billion in exports in the first 11 months of the year, the United States was the country with the largest increase in export share at 23%, and Iraq was the country with the highest export volume at USD 1.02 billion.

The furniture, paper and forest products sector, which exported USD 690 million in the previous month, achieved USD 671 million in exports in November. The sector reached USD 7.2 billion in exports over the first 11 months of the year, with the United States showing the highest growth in export share at 23 percent, while Iraq was the leading destination with USD 1.02 billion.

Istanbul Furniture, Paper and Forest Products Exporters Association Chairman Erkan Özkan stated, "Despite all the challenges we face, we are making efforts to complete 2024 as productively as possible. We will continue to work with all our strength to reach our year-end targets."

Turkey's export data for November 2024 was shared by Turkey Exporters Assembly (TİM). Turkey's exports declined 3.1 percent compared to the same month last year, while the 12-month rolling exports increased 2.3 percent, reaching USD 261.5 billion. November exports were recorded at USD 22.3 billion. The furniture, paper and forest products sector, which exported USD 686 million in November 2023, achieved USD 671 million in exports in the same month this year.

The sector achieved USD 7.2 billion in exports over the first 11 months of the year, with Iraq leading the list of countries with the highest exports at USD 1.02 billion. The United Kingdom ranked second with USD 405 million, followed by the United States with USD 353 million in exports. The list continued with countries such as Germany, Libya, Iran, Morocco, France, Romania and Georgia, while the United States showed the highest growth in export share at 23.52 percent.

Istanbul Furniture, Paper and Forest Products Exporters Association Chairman Erkan Özkan, noting that while intense competition and changing dynamics in world trade occasionally challenge domestic producers, they are becoming stronger with each passing day, stated: "Our sector continues to maintain remarkable performance despite the difficulties it faces. Over the first 11 months of 2024, we achieved a total of USD 7.2 billion in exports, with November registering USD 671 million. We always work with maximum efficiency and ambitious export targets.

We mentioned at the beginning of the year that 2024 would be challenging, but thanks to the dedication shown by our producers to increase Turkey's competitiveness in global markets, we have maintained a stable trajectory. By participating in trade fairs and promotional events held throughout the year, we have both strengthened our position in existing markets and gained presence in new markets. We are making great efforts to reach our year-end targets. We want to continue the stability we achieved in 2025 and demonstrate the strength of domestic production more prominently on the world stage."
