EİB Exports Reach USD 1.468 Billion in April

Aegean Export Unions (EİB) recorded exports of USD 1.468 billion in April. EİB's exports showed a 9% increase compared to USD 1.346 billion in April 2024. EİB's export performance in the first four months of 2025 fell below the same period of the previous year by 1%, declining from USD 5.995 billion to USD 5.944 billion.

Industrial sectors contributed USD 787 million to EİB's April exports with an 11% increase, while agricultural sectors' exports rose 5% from USD 541 million to USD 569 million. Exports by miners from the region advanced 14% from USD 99 million to USD 112.6 million. Of the 12 exporter unions within EİB, 8 succeeded in increasing their April exports, while 4 exporter unions fell below their April 2024 export levels.

Iron leads exports, textile records highest growth
Aegean Iron and Non-Ferrous Metals Exporters Union increased exports 22% from USD 170 million to USD 208 million, maintaining its top position. Aegean Textile and Raw Materials Exporters Union increased exports 35% from USD 30 million to USD 40.6 million, becoming the highest growth performer within EİB.

Aegean Aquatic Products and Animal Products Exporters Union, shaken by the USD 1.5 fund introduced on egg exports, recorded USD 135.7 million in exports in April, maintaining its second-place position while experiencing a 2% decline in exports.

Mining sector rises to third place
Aegean Mining Exporters Union continued its export success in April. Aegean Mining Exporters Union, which increased exports 14% from USD 99 million in April 2024 to USD 112.6 million in April 2025, secured third place within EİB. EMİB reached an annual export level of USD 1.350 billion and moved one step closer to an annual USD 1.5 billion export level.

Apparel exports increase
Aegean Apparel and Clothing Exporters Union, one of the unions dominating EİB's exports, advanced exports 9% from USD 93.9 million to USD 101.9 million in April. EHKİB recorded USD 1.372 billion in exports over the past 12 months.

Aegean Cereals, Legumes, Oilseeds and Products Exporters Union, which reached its highest export level in history with USD 1.065 billion in exports marking the nation's centenary, experienced export losses in 2024, and is recovering in 2025. In April, EHBYTİB increased exports 19% from USD 77.7 million to USD 92.8 million and increased exports 9% from USD 347 million to USD 379 million in the January-April period of 2025.

Decline in fresh fruit, vegetable and product exports halted
Aegean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters Union, the leader in plant product exports within EİB, halted its recent export decline in April. EYMSİB increased exports 7% from USD 80 million to USD 86.7 million in April, maintaining sixth place in the EİB ranking.

17% growth in dried fruit exports
Aegean Dried Fruit and Products Exporters Union, which ships seedless raisins, dried apricots and dried figs—products where we are world leaders—to all corners of the world, increased exports 17% from USD 70 million to USD 82 million in April. EKMİB brought Turkey USD 1.106 billion in foreign exchange over the past 12 months, an 8% increase.

Tobacco sector approaching USD 1 billion in exports
Aegean Tobacco Exporters Union's export performance in April increased 16% from USD 64.8 million in April 2024 to USD 75 million. ETİB's annual exports advanced 6% from USD 892 million to USD 948 million.

Aegean Furniture, Paper and Forest Products Exporters Union, representing the furniture, wood, paper and forest products subsectors, increased exports 4% from USD 65.7 million to USD 68.5 million in April.

Aegean Olive and Olive Oil Exporters Union's export figures declined 34% in April as well, following the decline in olive oil prices due to increased global olive oil harvest. EZZİB, which recorded USD 39 million in exports in April 2024, achieved USD 25.8 million in exports in April 2025.

Aegean Leather and Leather Products Exporters Union failed to stop the export decline in April 2025. While EDDMİB recorded USD 10.5 million in exports in April 2024, it declined 5% to USD 9.9 million in April 2025.

Looking at export performance of sectors without unions within EİB, the chemicals sector maintained its top position with USD 158 million in exports. The chemicals sector, which recorded USD 133 million in exports in April 2024, increased exports 19% in April 2025.

The chemicals sector was followed by the automotive industry sector with USD 75 million in exports, the electrical-electronics sector with USD 54 million, the machinery sector with USD 46 million, the cement, ceramics and earth products sector with USD 12.6 million and the defense industry sector with USD 7 million.

EİB exports to 183 countries; Germany maintains top position
Aegean Export Unions exported to 183 countries in April, with Germany maintaining its top position at USD 134 million. Exports from EİB to Germany increased 9% in April.

The United States followed Germany with a 12% export increase, advancing from USD 104 million to USD 116.8 million. Italy ranked third with USD 86.6 million in demand, while exports to the United Kingdom increased 11% from USD 72 million to USD 80 million. Exports to Spain in fifth place reached USD 77 million with a 9% increase. Other countries in EİB's top 10 markets ranked as France, the Netherlands, People's Republic of China, Romania and Russian Federation.

Aegean Region's exports totaled USD 2.208 billion
According to Turkish Exporters Council data, the Aegean Region exported USD 2.208 billion in April, with İzmir maintaining its top position with USD 1.100 billion in exports. Manisa continued to follow the top position with USD 410.6 million in exports, while Denizli contributed USD 362.8 million to Aegean Region exports.

Muğla recorded USD 95.2 million in exports, while Balıkesir demonstrated USD 77 million in export performance. Aydın recorded USD 70.7 million in exports, while Afyon recorded USD 36.8 million, Kütahya USD 34.5 million and Uşak USD 20.3 million in exports.
