Nobel Laureate Novoselov Discusses Materials for the Future

Nobel Prize-winning scientist Konstantin Novoselov delivered a presentation titled "Materials for the Future" at the NanoTR Conference.
The NanoTR Conference, a leading event in nanotechnology that brings together numerous scientists and professionals from academia, research institutions and industry every year, focused this year's conference series on the interdisciplinary role of nanoscience in biology and its integration with technological advances.
On the third day of the NanoTR conference series, Nobel Prize-winner Konstantin Novoselov delivered a presentation addressing "Materials for the Future". Novoselov, who was awarded the Nobel Prize in 2010 for his work on graphene conducted together with Andre Geim, shared detailed information in his presentation on the fundamental principles of functional smart material production.
Answering questions from Turkchem TV before the conference, Novoselov emphasized that nanotechnology is a very young field and that the most exciting areas for nanotechnology in the future will be the combination between biotechnology and nanotechnology. The Nobel Prize-winning physicist noted that the potential applications of nanotechnology in health and biology are quite diverse and that there are significant opportunities in this field.
In response to a question about the next big thing, Novoselov stated: "I would say exciting work on out-of-equilibrium systems that are beginning to resemble biological systems can be given as an example. This involves multiple metastable states competing with each other and new functions emerging in this way." Novoselov also emphasized the importance of young researchers wishing to specialize in nanotechnology finding the areas that most interest and excite them.
