OYAK Continues Aid to Earthquake-Affected Region

Earthquake relief operations in the disaster zone continue as OYAK coordinates with relevant authorities through its Crisis Coordination Center to meet needs. OYAK mobilized its volunteer staff and suppliers from the first day of the earthquake to assist those affected in the region. Through its Crisis Coordination Center, OYAK coordinates with AFAD and authorized units, with a 350-person team composed of Group Company employees engaged in search and rescue operations in the disaster area. Approximately 70 vehicles including trucks, cranes, heavy equipment, ambulances and fire trucks, along with technical personnel, operate under the coordination of official institutions in the region. OYAK Group Companies regularly deliver essential supplies such as shelter and heating, food, containers and tents to the region. To date, 5.3 million litres of fuel and diesel along with 31,500 gas cylinders have been dispatched to the area. Additionally, 1.3 million medical supplies and 46,000 cartons consisting of food, hygiene and clothing items have been delivered to the region. Donation packages containing priority needs such as hygiene products, clothing and lighting, prepared entirely through the voluntary support of company employees and filling six trucks, have been sent to earthquake survivors. Through OYAK's Crisis Coordination Center, maritime transport operations at İsdemir Port in İskenderun are being utilized, while support has been provided to the repair process of the damaged airport in the region by meeting concrete and heavy equipment needs. The company continues to provide shelter and hot meals for employees working at its facilities and plants in the region, their families and local residents within its available capacity.
