Poliport Invests TRY 465 Million in Kocaeli Port Region
Poliport, operating in the Kocaeli Gulf Region among Europe's ten largest ports, is increasing capacity with an investment of TRY 465 million. With this investment, Poliport will increase its liquid cargo storage capacity from 271,000 cubic metres to 436,000 cubic metres. Investments related to the capacity increase will begin as of 2022. Poliport General Manager Efe Hatay made statements regarding the investment worth TRY 465 million. Hatay noted that the incentive certificate providing state support such as taxes, VAT and insurance premiums for this investment was published in the Official Gazette. General Manager Efe Hatay stated that Poliport, a subsidiary of Polisan Holding operating in port operations, assumes an important role in the Kocaeli Gulf Region. Hatay emphasized that Poliport has achieved many firsts over 50 years. Hatay stated: "As one of the leading independent chemical storage terminals in the Kocaeli region, which is headquartered in the area producing 45% of Turkey's GDP, we provide round-the-clock service to our customers. The increase in capacity will make a significant contribution to the regional economy."Qualified for Government Incentives
Poliport, located on an area of 213,000 square metres and providing bulk liquid storage services, dry cargo and general cargo handling services as well as warehousing services to its customers, will make an additional investment of TRY 465 million in wharf, pier and tank area. In statements regarding this investment, Hatay emphasized that the investment qualified for government incentives. Hatay stated that the state support provided by the incentive certificate published in the Official Gazette through the Ministry of Industry and Technology notice encompasses: 55% tax reduction, 20% investment contribution rate, employer share support for insurance premiums for 3 years, and VAT exemption."We Aim to Contribute to the Country's Economic Growth"
Hatay also noted that Poliport is the youngest and most modern port terminal in the Kocaeli Gulf Region using cutting-edge technology. Hatay stated: "We conduct our investments with a focus on maintaining the highest quality of service we have provided uninterruptedly to the world's largest producers since the 1990s and creating differentiation through technology. Tank area repairs and renovations that we started in 2021 are proceeding rapidly. By putting our covered warehouses into operation in early 2022, where pier and development activities continue, we will focus on profitability in our port operations. Additionally, our AION Project, which we launched for the implementation of the port automation programme in 2022, is underway.
