The Istanbul Chemical Substance and Products Exporters Association (İKMİB) organised a Russia Sectoral Trade Mission for the household and kitchenware sector. Within the scope of the mission, 185 bilateral business meetings were held with the participation of 41 Turkish and Russian companies. İKMİB, which carries out numerous activities to contribute to the chemical sector's exports, organised the "Russia Household and Kitchenware Sectoral Trade Mission" between 4-7 June 2024 for the household and kitchenware sector. This year's second sectoral trade mission—following the one to Kazakhstan in February—took place in June to Russia. Ali Küçük, Member of the İKMİB Board of Directors, and 21 representatives from 15 companies attended the Household and Kitchenware Sectoral Trade Mission held in Moscow. Cansu Şaziye Tanrıverdi, Commercial Counsellor at the Turkish Embassy in Moscow, visited the mission and informed participants about the market. Within the scope of the organisation, a retail tour was conducted visiting the Hyperglobus and Auchan supermarkets in Moscow as well as the Tvoy Dom store, which primarily stocks home products. Additionally, RTİP (Russian-Turkish Business Association) was visited, and a meeting was held with senior representatives of Turkish banks operating in Russia. Information concerning money transfer issues and methods in Russia was shared with the mission participants.

185 bilateral meetings held

Within the scope of the mission, Turkish participating companies met with Russian firms. With the participation of 26 Russian buyer companies, 185 bilateral business meetings were conducted between Turkish companies.
"Our household and kitchenware sector's exports to Russia increased by over 20 percent"
İKMİB Board Chairman Adil Pelister stated that they have organised a sectoral trade mission for the second time this year for the household and kitchenware sector, which provides added value to our country by generating foreign trade surplus. Stating that as İKMİB, they organised the second sectoral trade mission for the household and kitchenware sector to the Russian market, following the first one to Kazakhstan in February, Pelister said, "In the ranking of countries to which our plastic tableware, kitchenware and household goods sector exports most, Russia ranks 19th. Our sector's exports to Russia increased by over 20 percent compared to the previous year in 2023, reaching USD 9.8 million. The Russian market presents significant potential for our sector. We believe that the sectoral trade missions we organise for different markets will contribute to our companies' exports. As İKMİB, we will continue to support our companies through such activities."
