Saint-Gobain PAM Products Connect Two Continents

PAM Building Drainage Systems, a brand of French Saint Gobain Group, supplied 8 km of non-combustible pipe and fittings for the Istanbul Eurasia Project. PAM, a Saint Gobain brand holding 1500 patents worldwide in infrastructure systems and building drainage systems, brought its quality to Istanbul's Eurasia Tunnel, which connects two continents. The lowest point of the 5 km long, 2-lane highway tunnel connecting Europe and Asia sides of Istanbul passes 106.4 meters below sea level. The Eurasia Tunnel creates a transit route between the heavily trafficked D100 Highway on the Asian side and Kennedy Avenue on the European side, shortening distances. With the improved connector roads making the route more efficient, tunnel users complete their intercontinental journey in approximately 5 minutes. Since opening, the Eurasia Tunnel has attracted heavy traffic from drivers. This project, which has begun to ease existing Bosphorus crossing traffic, is described as the shortest route between two continents. PAM Regional Export Manager Barış Turgay, emphasizing the quality of PAM products, stated: "The 2-lane highway tunnel passing under the sea contains many world firsts, particularly in terms of seismic characteristics. Only the best materials like PAM belong in such a special project. We are very proud that PAM products, which stand out for their non-combustible and long-lasting properties, are part of such a project." Noting that PAM will participate in noteworthy projects in the coming period, Turgay underlined that the use of PAM products would elevate the quality approach to a different level, and sector expectations would rise accordingly. Turgay stated: "PAM provides suitable products and solutions for large-scale projects in Turkey such as luxury residential projects, hotels and shopping centers. However, solutions that can only be provided by companies with strong R&D and a wide product range exist at PAM. This opens the way for PAM to participate in noteworthy projects in the coming period."
