Industrial parks modified in line with manufacturers' requests and current needs.

Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank made the following statement on the matter: ''We took manufacturers' requests into consideration and took important steps in their favour. We completed the regulation amendment following a careful evaluation and analysis process with our team members. Our greatest desire is for all the decisions we take to add value to our industry. Along with the regulation, we increased the construction area usage capacity in industrial plots.'' he said. Varank also noted the significant role of planned industrialisation in sustainable growth and continued: "I hope the decisions we have taken will be beneficial for the industrial sector, which is the backbone of the economy. Covid-19 has brought difficult times for us, and our manufacturers have significant responsibilities. To ensure the continuity of production, we are trying to ease their burden. Our expectation from our manufacturers is that they raise workplace safety to the highest level in their facilities and protect our workers. We have communicated the rules that must be applied to industrial facilities during this period. The protection of our workers' health is as critical as the continuity of production and employment for our manufacturers." he said. Under the new regulation, manufacturers will be able to establish wind and solar energy power generation facilities. Wind and solar energy production will take place in the vacant parts of industrial and support plots in industrial parks, and production facilities will be evaluated within the framework of support units belonging to the participant. Recycling and waste management facilities can be established in the technical infrastructure areas of industrial parks and manufacturers will be protected from losses. In addition to all these, the regulation also includes simplification of legislation and reduction of bureaucracy. Land title deed presentation will not be required for the establishment of private industrial parks, and donations of industrial parks will be permitted subject to Ministry approval. The regulation regarding the sale of plots in foreign currency in industrial parks has been repealed, and the plot allocation price was set as the upper limit in calculating the amount to be paid in plot cancellation and return cases due to the increase in revaluation rates.
