Mehmet Özalp Takes Over as Schneider Electric Türkiye and Central Asia Region President

Schneider Electric announced that, as part of a change in its senior management, Türkiye and Central Asia Regional President İsmail Yamangil will hand over his role to Mehmet Özalp effective 1 January 2026.

Schneider Electric announced that Mehmet Özalp will assume the position of Turkey and Central Asia Region President from Ismail Yamangil, effective 1 January 2026, as part of management changes in the company's senior leadership.

Global energy technology leader Schneider Electric announced strategic management changes in its organization's senior leadership. According to the statement, Mehmet Özalp, who has held various roles at Schneider Electric for 21 years, has been appointed as Schneider Electric Turkey and Central Asia Region President effective 1 January 2026.

Current Region President Ismail Yamangil will continue to add value to Schneider Electric in his new role as Leader of Commercial Transformation Projects for the Schneider Electric Middle East and Africa Region. The company stated in its announcement that it is confident Mehmet Özalp's extensive experience, command of the region and sector, and strong business partnerships will take the company's business relationships even further. The company emphasized that with this management transition, Schneider Electric will continue to move toward its corporate objectives with the same success, stability and determination.

21 years of experience at Schneider Electric
Mehmet Özalp, a graduate of Istanbul Boys High School, completed his degree from the Electrical Electronics Engineering Department at Istanbul Technical University in 1999. He subsequently completed his Master's Program in German Business Administration at Marmara University in 2002.

Özalp began his career journey in 2004 joining Schneider Electric as Project Manager, and over the past 21 years has held many critical roles nationally and internationally. Serving as Deputy General Manager responsible for the Turkey, Iran and Central Asia Region Industrial Business Unit, Özalp also successfully managed senior positions such as Vice President responsible for the Middle East and Africa Region Industrial Business Unit.

Prior to his new position, Mehmet Özalp has been leading the region as Deputy General Manager of Power Systems for Schneider Electric Turkey and Central Asia Region since 2021.
