Sintek Group Takes on Key Role in OYAK Çimento's İskenderun Plant Capacity Expansion Project

As investment in capacity expansion continues in Turkey's cement sector, Sintek Group is successfully executing the contract works for the 120 ton/hour capacity cement mill project under construction at OYAK Çimento Fabrikaları A.Ş.'s İskenderun facility.

Under the project scope, Sintek Group undertakes pile driving, excavation, construction, mechanical works, grounding, auxiliary equipment supply and project management tasks, making significant contributions to the facility's modernization process. The project is planned to be completed within 12 years and 21 days from site handover.

Phase 1 covers feed lines, auxiliary facilities and a 2,000 ton capacity steel cement silo,

Phase 2 covers a 20,000 ton capacity reinforced concrete cement silo to be commissioned.

22,000 m³ concrete, 4,800 tons steel: Site works progressing rapidly
As one of the most significant investments in Turkey's cement sector, the project has to date completed approximately 22,000 m³ concrete pouring and 4,800 tons steel utilization. The 20,000 ton capacity reinforced concrete silo is being constructed using the sliding formwork method, and construction works for all units across the project have reached completion stage.

Road and site preparation works are ongoing, while mechanical works have successfully completed 2,617 tons equipment installation and dismantling and 1,623 tons steel assembly to date. Within the project scope;
the cement mill, conveyor lines, additive feed area, 2,000 ton steel silo, 20,000 ton reinforced concrete silo, roads, retaining walls, compressor building and electrical room are being executed by Sintek Group.

Sustainable contribution through domestic production and engineering capability
The project's system filters are produced at Sintek Group's production facilities in Ankara. A significant portion of other equipment is also sourced through local production, while the majority of technological systems are produced directly at the job site and integrated into the project.

Testing and commissioning processes for units such as truck feed bunker, cement mill feed and conveyor lines are advancing rapidly. Sintek Group aims to complete all stages of the project within the planned schedule through its engineering capability and field experience.
