Şişecam Invests EUR 25 Million in New Coated Glass Facility in Tarsus

Şişecam has commissioned a new coated glass line at its Tarsus Glass Production Facility to meet rising demand for coated glass products. The new line, implemented with a total investment of EUR 25 million and featuring annual production capacity of 7 million square meters, aims to strengthen the company's high-value product portfolio and increase its competitive strength in global markets.

Over the past six months, Şişecam has commissioned an annual gross capacity of 432,000 tonnes flat glass line and an annual capacity of 47 million square meters energy glass line at its Tarsus facilities, further reinforcing its production infrastructure with the new coated glass line investment.

Coated glass products manufactured on the new line will be exported not only to the Turkish market but also to numerous regions including the Middle East and North Africa, Eastern Europe and South Asia. Through its strategically positioned Tarsus production complex, Şişecam aims to increase the share of high-value products in flat glass operations, improve supply chain flexibility and enhance operational efficiency.

Şişecam General Manager Can Yücel, commenting on the investment, stated that the company is pursuing its coated glass investments with determination:

Yücel also noted that the investment is expected to make a positive contribution to the company's profitability and cash generation capacity in the medium and long term.

Coated Glass Capacity Reaches 48.1 Million Square Meters
Şişecam accelerated its coated glass investments on a global scale during 2026. In January, the company completed a new coated glass line with annual capacity of 6 million square meters at its flat glass facility in Bulgaria, and in February, it commissioned its new line at the San Giorgio di Nogaro facility in Italy.

With the completion of the Tarsus investment, Şişecam's number of coated glass lines worldwide has risen to seven, while total coated glass production capacity has reached 48.1 million square meters.

High-Value Production and Export-Focused Growth
Through its recent investments, Şişecam aims to increase the share of high-value products in production, strengthen its position in export markets and support sustainable growth in flat glass operations. The new coated glass line at Tarsus stands out as one of the important steps of this strategy.
