Şişecam's Net Sales for the First Half of 2025 Reached TRY 101 Billion

Şişecam, one of the international players in the glass and chemicals sectors, recorded consolidated net sales of TRY 101 billion in the first six months of 2025. During this period, the share of international sales within Şişecam's total sales stood at 62%, while total investments reached TRY 14.6 billion and exports amounted to USD 483 million.

Şişecam, one of the international players in the glass and chemicals sectors, achieved consolidated net sales of TRY 101 billion in the first six months of 2025. During this period, international sales accounted for 62% of Şişecam's total sales, total investments reached TRY 14.6 billion, and exports amounted to USD 483 million.

Şişecam announced its financial results for the first six months of 2025. The company's consolidated net sales for this period reached TRY 101 billion, while international sales—comprising exports from Turkey and sales from production outside Turkey—represented 62% of consolidated sales. In the first six months, Şişecam's total investments were TRY 14.6 billion and exports totaled USD 483 million. During this period, the company produced 2.8 million tonnes of glass, 2.2 million tonnes of soda ash and 1.9 million tonnes of industrial raw materials.

Şişecam General Manager Can Yücel, noting that global macroeconomic and geopolitical developments that began impacting business in 2024 continue to shape the business environment in 2025, evaluated the company's first-half performance as follows: "Continued global demand weakness and rising production costs, coupled with the effects of tight monetary policies, continue to pressure profitability for exporters and global players. Under these conditions, Şişecam continues its operations with determination, maintaining its priority of sustainable growth, profitability and value creation for all stakeholders. Within the scope of current requirements, we continue to see positive results from the actions we have taken to control costs and increase efficiency. Expecting these conditions to persist for some time, we are carefully pursuing our streamlining policy aimed at strengthening financial resilience and our strategy of focusing on high-value-added areas. In addition to the contribution this approach makes to our periodic results, we view it as an important opportunity for a healthier Şişecam in the medium to long term."

We have moved our efficiency focus to a systematic framework
Yücel stressed that the decisions taken during this period were not limited to responding to current conditions but were also important for strengthening long-term resilience, and continued his remarks as follows: "As of 2025, we have transitioned our efficiency focus to a more comprehensive and systematic framework, managing it under our 'Productivity Management Program' umbrella. In line with our priority to preserve our cash flow capacity and sound balance sheet structure, we will continue in the remainder of the year with cost-saving and streamlining measures and focusing on areas and assets that generate revenue and offer high value-added. Furthermore, we are reviewing our business plans and organization to update our go-to-market strategies, pricing policies and customer relationships in line with Şişecam's core strategies, enabling us to respond more quickly and effectively to changing market conditions. In the current operating environment, which is rapidly changing and facing multiple diverse risks, the proper allocation of Şişecam's resources and capacity and their most effective utilization are of critical importance. In this direction, the productivity increases achieved in production processes, the reduction of operational costs and the more effective use of resources contribute to our profitability, and with the additional contribution of price improvements achieved particularly in the European market, we have been able to reach better financial results."

Yücel continued his remarks as follows:
"In the architectural glass segment, we are restructuring our European capacity and operating in accordance with the principle of flexible capacity management based on market conditions. In February 2025, we decided to bring forward the planned cold repair of our flat glass production facility in Northern Italy. Along with this decision, we have managed production, sales and inventory balance more efficiently while also achieving cost optimization. The cost advantages and volume improvements resulting from increased capacity utilization rates at our other facilities are positively impacting our European flat glass operations. With the recovery in the European market, we aim to increase our high-value-added product sales volume with the effect of our coating lines in Bulgaria, Turkey and Italy that we will bring online in 2026. On the other hand, we plan to bring our flat glass facility under construction in Tarsus online in the first quarter of 2026. Our tempered glass furnace and energy glass processing lines in Tarsus are targeted to begin production somewhat earlier than planned, in the last quarter of 2025, in a manner that will meet market demand and contribute to our country's current account balance. In addition to contributing to our economy's green transition process, this project, which will reduce Turkey's energy glass imports and contribute to export potential, is among our strategic priorities."

We are creating more integrated and lean structures
Noting that Şişecam has also taken strategic steps such as relocation and transfer of certain production activities, Yücel explained these decisions as follows: "We have taken an important step toward transforming our hand-made glassware production, which we conducted in Denizli for many years, into a more modern, integrated and sustainable structure by relocating it to Kırklareli. At the modernized Kırklareli plant, we will support traditional glassmaking craftsmanship with contemporary production systems and proudly pass on our quality and craft to future generations. I would like to share that this facility will hold a special place in enhancing the economic value of hand-made production, and our Kırklareli glassware plant is scheduled to begin production in December."

We are consolidating our European encapsulation facilities in Slovakia
"We have taken important steps to optimize our European structure in automotive glass production, a significant area of expertise for Şişecam that strengthens our brand value. We have consolidated our encapsulation facilities in Germany and Hungary into our Slovakia facility, achieving significant gains in production streamlining, efficiency improvements and supply chain effectiveness. Additionally, our work on completing our two-furnace glass packaging production facility in Kaposvar, Hungary, with an annual gross capacity of approximately 396,000 tonnes, which we have included in our investment plans to meet increasing demand in the European glass packaging market and develop our production infrastructure, continues without disruption in accordance with our plans. We plan to bring our facility online in phases starting from the beginning of 2026, taking market conditions into account.

We continue our growth in strong markets
"One of the key components of our global growth strategy is our soda production business, through which we continue our operations in Wyoming with our natural soda ash investment in the United States in 2019, with an annual capacity of 2.5 million tonnes. This facility, distinguished by its low carbon footprint and competitive production cost advantage in global competition, continues to create value for Şişecam. Taking into account the opportunities offered by natural soda production in the sector's future, our Pacific Soda investment, planned with an annual capacity of 5 million tonnes, is currently underway. In this investment, where permitting processes have been largely completed, we are simultaneously conducting careful evaluations regarding the optimization of investment costs within the context of changing market conditions and updating the investment plan in consideration of market dynamics. Our priority is the integration into our portfolio of this investment, which will provide Şişecam with a competitive advantage in soda production capacity, with the most accurate planning and high efficiency."
