TE Connectivity’s New Pluggable Terminal Blocks

TE Connectivity (TE) has launched a new SNK pluggable terminal block series designed to reduce installation efforts for industrial equipment manufacturers and optimize inventory levels. Assembly and test times are reduced by connecting pre-assembled subassemblies using pluggable terminal blocks and cable harnesses. Pluggable terminal blocks enable on-site configured design and eliminate the need to stock a wide range of pre-configured solutions. Frederic Stuckelberger, Product Portfolio Manager at TE Connectivity's Industrial Business Unit ENTRELEC, states: "The SNK pluggable series was developed to help customers increase productivity and secure their installations on-site. "Instead of wiring one terminal at a time, cables can be easily plugged into pre-assembled cable harnesses equipped with connectors. Optimization of all manufacturing, testing and commissioning processes enables cost savings and labor time reductions of up to 90%. This series is particularly suited for applications where products may encounter harsh conditions such as maritime, switching devices, elevators or railways. It has successfully passed the most severe vibration, shock and temperature tests. TE's ENTRELEC pluggable terminal blocks provide a 15% carbon footprint reduction compared to market average. The optimized connector size provides better visibility and larger marking surfaces for circuit identification. Using only two connector types, which reduces inventory of individual connectors by up to 30%, tool-free assembly of 2 to 15-pole female connector configurations is straightforward. Subassemblies of industrial equipment can also be easily separated for transport. Due to the error-proof coding system, field installation is guaranteed 100%.
