TİM President Gülle: "Our Minister Resolved a 15-Year-Old Problem in Three Weeks, We Are Grateful"

TIM President İsmail Gülle stated that Treasury and Finance Minister Berat Albayrak and Trade Minister Ruhsar Pekcan have taken an important step with this measure for the global competitiveness of USD 15 billion leather exports and USD 32 billion automotive exports, and that all exporters under TIM, İDMİB and OİB are grateful, saying, "While taking a step of critical importance for our leather and automotive exports, we particularly note that we support the increase in tariffs from 20 percent to 25 percent on products other than raw hides in Chapter 43, due to its import-reducing effect." Pointing out that the issue was addressed at the 2nd TIM Delegates Workshop held on 7 February 2019, TIM President İsmail Gülle said, "It has pleased us that this picture came to life shortly after being raised by our exporters at the last Delegates Workshop hosted by our Treasury and Finance Minister, the Trade Ministry and TIM, with its effect of increasing our exports."
