TİM Lights Export Torch in Erzurum with 'Eastern Anatolia Assembly'

With 61 exporter associations, 13 general secretariats, 27 sectors and over 83,000 members, the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM), the umbrella organization of exporters serving as Turkey's field operatives in global trade diplomacy, is meeting with all stakeholders of the export ecosystem across the country. TİM held the second of its consultation meetings, which function as open communication platforms, under the name "TİM East Anatolia Assembly" in Erzurum. With a 360-degree perspective and in line with the goal of "Turkey with Trade Surplus," TİM listened to exporters' demands and placed regional issues on the table. The meeting, hosted by TİM President İsmail Gülle, was also attended by Erzurum Governor Okay Memiş, Erzurum Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mehmet Sekmen and leading businesspeople from the region. TİM President İsmail Gülle said in his address at the meeting: "In the first two months of this year, we are continuing our monthly records. These records have made us extremely pleased and happy. However, at the same time, these successes have placed very great responsibilities on us for better tomorrows. As TİM, we have identified critical priorities for the future of our exports aimed at increasing the value of our exports, the number of exporting companies and the diversity of products we sell. If these three factors come together, it is clear that we can, so to speak, multiply our share of global trade. From this perspective, we are committed to continuing our regional assembly meetings, which function as open communication platforms, intensively this year. We will transform the momentum that we began in Gaziantep and captured today in Erzurum into, so to speak, a mobilization throughout Turkey, traveling across our country from end to end. With this mobilization, of which we are holding the second meeting, we will traverse Anatolia from end to end and, with the contributions of our exporters, seek ways to increase the volume and added value of our exports. We will provide training to the youth, entrepreneurs and exporters of Erzurum province in all areas of exports, encouraging them in this field and preparing them for exporting. Particularly in our efforts to bring our SMEs into exporting, we will implement our "TİM SME Export Mobilization" training program for the first time on 19-20 March in Erzurum. In addition to Erzurum, our exporting companies, entrepreneurs, university students and opinion leaders from Ağrı, Iğdır, Van and Bayburt provinces will participate in our SME Export Mobilization training program."
