Turkish Scientists Named Among 87 Innovative Engineers
Sabancı University graduates, three scientists were among 87 innovative engineers who participated in the "Frontiers of Engineering" symposium organized by the U.S. National Academy of Engineering.
According to a statement from Sabancı University, Canan Dağdeviren, a 2009 master's graduate from the Materials Science and Engineering Program at Sabancı University, Ece Kamar, a 2005 graduate from the Computer Science and Engineering Program, and Kıvılcım Ayşe Coşkun, a 2003 graduate from the Microelectronics Engineering Program, were among the 87 innovative engineers who participated in the Frontiers of Engineering symposium organized by the U.S. National Academy of Engineering (NAE).
Participants in the Frontiers of Engineering symposium were selected from among the most successful candidates conducting outstanding research and technical work in various engineering disciplines. At the symposium held in South Carolina between 25-27 September 2019, recent developments were shared under the headings of advanced manufacturing in the digital transformation era, genome engineering, autonomous vehicles, technology and ethics, and blockchain technology.
Among the 87 innovative engineers invited by the U.S. National Academy of Engineering, Canan Dağdeviren is currently a faculty member at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Ece Kamar is a senior researcher at Microsoft, and Kıvılcım Ayşe Coşkun is a faculty member at Boston University.
