Turkish Iron and Steel Sector to Get a Boost from Clean Energy

The Aegean Iron and Non-Ferrous Metals Exporters Association participated in the Wind Europe Annual Event 2025, held in Copenhagen, Denmark from 8–10 April 2025, with an information stand, closely monitoring the sector's dynamics.

Organized by Wind Europe, representing Europe in wind energy, this prestigious event hosted approximately 550 companies and welcomed over 15,000 visitors. The programme featured 70 sessions with presentations by more than 350 speakers, held across 5 different halls over three days. One of these halls was dedicated to startup companies, while 220 poster presentations showcased innovative technological developments in the sector.

Yalçın Ertan, Chairman of the Board of the Aegean Iron and Non-Ferrous Metals Exporters Association, commented on the Association's participation: "As the Aegean Iron and Non-Ferrous Metals Exporters Association, we were greatly honoured to represent our members with our information stand at the fair, in order to support the increasingly growing renewable energy equipment exports in our region and strengthen our members' vision for the future. The visit of our stand by Turkey's Ambassador to Denmark and Trade Advisor provided an opportunity for the international community to better understand Turkey and our region's high potential in the renewable energy field."

Commenting also on the process of Wind Europe's 2028 candidacy, Ertan stated: "This event provided an important platform not only for direct contact with sector professionals, but also for technology, investment and cooperation opportunities. Every step taken towards Turkey's goal of hosting WindEurope in 2028 will further strengthen our country's leadership in energy transition." He added: "I am confident that through our participation and the partnerships we have established, we will build a stronger future in sustainable energy solutions. On this occasion, I extend my gratitude to all participants and business partners who contributed during the event, and I hope to work together on many more projects in the future."
