Did you know that the EUCEB Logo on mineral wool packaging carries much deeper meaning than just a symbol? İzocam highlighted the importance of the EUCEB logo for both our health and the environment in 10 questions. For 14 years İzocam Stone wool and for 13 years İzocam Glass wool products have made continuous investments in EUCEB certification. İzocam explained the importance of the EUCEB logo for both our health and the environment in 10 questions:

What are EUCEB-certified stone wool and glass wool products and where are they used?

Glass wool and stone wool (mineral wools) are fibres produced from domestic and inorganic raw materials. Mineral wool products are indispensable insulation materials for thermal insulation, sound insulation, acoustic regulation and fire safety. Depending on their use and purpose, they can be produced in different dimensions and technical specifications, in the form of mats, boards, pipes and poured insulation with various coating materials.

What should we pay attention to when choosing mineral wools?

When purchasing insulation materials for our living spaces, we should take care to select quality, healthy and environmentally safe products. Not all mineral wools have these characteristics. When choosing mineral fibre stone wool and glass wool products that provide effective insulation, attention should be paid to whether EUCEB is on the packaging and certificates for the products should be requested.

Why is EUCEB certification so important in insulation?

EUCEB certification proves that the products bearing it on their packaging comply with the conditions and quality standards established for human health. These non-carcinogenic products are inspected on a regular basis and pose no threat to human health throughout their service life. For this reason, the EUCEB logo on İzocam brand glass wool and stone wool products carries much deeper meaning than just a symbol. This logo is an important indicator that we need to act with awareness in insulation for sustainable and healthy tomorrows.

What does EUCEB certification represent?

EUCEB is a certification proving that fibres penetrating the body through skin and respiration are both excreted from the body and dissolved in nature. This certification indicates that mineral wools are produced in accordance with European Union regulations and are regularly inspected by independent experts. Thus, the bio-solubility of products bearing EUCEB certification is proven by international standards.

How is EUCEB certification granted?

EUCEB (European Certification Board for Mineral Wool), is an institution established to enable the supply of non-carcinogenic, safe and harmless products to consumers. In this direction, EUCEB inspects the compliance of mineral wools with paragraph Q, in which the conditions required for non-carcinogenic products are specified in European Regulation No. 1272/2008. EUCEB certification covers mineral wools such as stone wool and glass wool. EUCEB provides certification stating that products proven to comply with standards following tests fall into the "non-carcinogenic products" category.

What conditions must be met for continuity of EUCEB certification?

The chemical composition, analysis and bio-solubility of EUCEB-certified products, which are among those in İzocam brand fibres, are checked with regular chemical analyses every week. Tests are supervised by independent certification body BCCA. Twice a year, samples are taken from the manufacturer's facility by an independent body and results are reviewed by an independent certification body. The independent certification body confirms that the tested mineral fibre stone wool and glass wool products comply with EUCEB requirements and grants the manufacturer the right to use the EUCEB logo.

How are non-carcinogenic mineral wool products identified?

Use of the EUCEB logo on the packaging and/or label of products that successfully pass EUCEB inspection is approved. In this way, consumers can easily identify safe and healthy insulation materials from the logo on the packaging and/or label. The EUCEB logo on the packaging of glass wool and stone wool insulation products is proof that the product is harmless to health. Therefore, İzocam branded products bearing the EUCEB logo on their packaging provide health assurance in insulation. Furthermore, manufacturers' EUCEB Certificates and which products they cover can be checked through the website of BCCA (Belgian Building Certification Body), the independent certification body conducting inspections on behalf of EUCEB.

For how many years has İzocam invested in EUCEB certification?

İzocam is the first institution in the insulation sector to hold EUCEB certification. Leading the sector in this regard, İzocam has been producing İzocam Stone wool for 14 years and İzocam Glass wool for 13 years under EUCEB guarantee, protecting consumer health. Pointing out that healthy insulation is a right, İzocam continues its investments in EUCEB certification on an ongoing basis.

What standards do İzocam brand mineral wools have along with EUCEB certification?

İzocam Stone wool and İzocam Glass wool, in addition to EUCEB Certification regularly inspected and verified by BCCA, hold TSE and CE certificates, ISO 9001 Quality Assurance System, ISO 14001 Environmental Management System, ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System Certifications. İzocam brand mineral wools increase the fire safety of buildings with their A1 non-flammable rating, alongside high-standard thermal and sound insulation. At the same time, thanks to recycled materials used in production, the buildings they insulate can obtain green building certification such as LEED - BREAM. Furthermore, these products directly contribute to 8 of the "17 Global Goals for Sustainable Development" developed by the United Nations as part of its efforts to combat global climate change. İzocam Glass wool Mats are certified with "Eurofins Gold" certification for their contribution to healthy indoor air quality.
