Parquet and floor coverings experienced the third largest decline at 19 percent. Ceramic coating materials ranked fourth with a 16.6 percent decrease. Following the earthquake disaster, construction materials production in the affected region largely halted. Declines were also experienced in other regions. The report noted that the negative impact of the earthquakes that occurred in February on production began to diminish as of March.Investments in the earthquake region will boost the sector
In the Türkiye İMSAD report, closely followed by construction industry and economic circles, it was emphasized that following the earthquake disaster in February, seismic activity became the most important determining factor in the construction sector. In this context, new investments in residential, non-residential buildings and infrastructure in the 11 provinces affected by the earthquake initially created business potential in the sector. It was also noted that repair and strengthening activities in the region would particularly stimulate the renovation market.Advertisement
