Izocam Sets New Record

Allocating 55% of its 2022 in-factory investment budget to productivity, maintenance and renewal, İzocam continues to set records across all areas, from scrap ratios in production to carbon emission reductions and energy consumption levels. Raising the bar on success with its projects and investments year after year, İzocam continues to sign successful initiatives while breaking production records and meeting targets in energy savings, occupational safety and environmental matters. İzocam General Director Murat Savcı stated that the company allocated 55% of its 2022 investment budgets to productivity, maintenance and renewal efforts, directing the remaining 25% to sustainability and EHS, and 20% to digitalization and customer satisfaction. Savcı noted that they implemented a series of investments, resulting in reaching record production levels as a consequence of these investments. Murat Savcı said that at the Tarsus facility they produced nearly 45,000 tonnes of glass wool, setting a historic record for that plant, and similarly at the Dilovası facility they produced nearly 60,000 tonnes of mineral wool, breaking the production record for the last three years. İzocam General Director Murat Savcı stated that another success at the Dilovası facility was the lowest scrap level record.  

Energy consumption declining year on year

Murat Savcı noted that 57 years ago when the company's story began, its purpose of existence was defined as developing environmentally friendly and sustainable insulation solutions that save energy and provide comfort while protecting natural resources and ensuring life and property safety, and that the company still maintains the characteristics of being a company operating with the motivation of efficient use of resources, climate change, sustainable building construction, energy savings, environmental protection and improving quality of life on this path it has taken. Murat Savcı stated that within the framework of both carbon emission reduction and energy consumption savings project targets, they installed energy monitoring systems at the mineral wool and glass wool production facilities, implemented recovery and efficiency projects, and renewed lighting types with environmentally friendly practices, thereby achieving 13% energy savings at the Tarsus facility and 15% energy savings at the Dilovası facility.  

İzocam achieves targets in environment and occupational safety

Murat Savcı stated that as İzocam they achieved their targets in environment and occupational safety matters and signed differentiated successes, continuing as follows: "At the forefront of our environment, occupational health and safety and projects is the stack filter investment we made at the Tarsus Facility. To ensure that our facility operates in the most compatible manner with environmental conditions, with this environmentally friendly technological investment we took, we aimed to reach air emission values at world standards. With this investment that we put into operation in August 2021, we reached levels approximately one-third of the limit values required by the authorities. Thus, with the new stack filter we aim to take our contribution for a sustainable world to the next level. At the same time, we earned the right to obtain the Basic Level Zero Waste Certificate at all our facilities. Our Tarsus Facility was the first to receive this certificate. By the end of last year, all our facilities had this certificate. This certificate, issued by the Republic of Turkey Ministry of Environment and Urbanization, indicates that the facility has completed a series of processes including prevention of waste at the basic level, more efficient use of resources, reviewing the causes of waste generation and preventing or minimizing waste generation, and if waste is generated, separate collection at the source and ensuring its recovery. Another important achievement for us as İzocam was achieving our 'Zero Work Accidents' target at our facilities. As of April of this year, our Eskişehir Facility reached its 4th accident-free year, and our Tarsus Facility reached its 1000th accident-free day. Within the framework of the "Occupational Health, Safety and Environment Awards (EHS Awards)" that Saint-Gobain announces annually by decision of an international jury, İzocam was deemed worthy of the "Safety Diamond" award in the "Safety Cultural Transformation" category.
