OYAK Çimento Adds New Product to Grey Cement Range
OYAK Çimento, which continues to produce environmentally friendly products for a sustainable world, has added a new product to its grey cement family. CEM VI (S-LL) 32.5 R type grey cement is produced with carbon dioxide emissions below 400 kilograms per ton.
OYAK Group company OYAK Çimento, Turkey's cement company committed to 'Net-Zero', continues to add sustainability-focused products to its portfolio.
According to the announcement, the CEM VI (S-LL) 32.5 R type product added to the cement company's grey cement family is produced with carbon dioxide emissions below 400 kilograms per ton. The new grey cement has also become one of the first 'CEM VI' class products to receive G conformity certificate in Turkey's cement sector.
Presented under the Alfacem brand, CEM VI (S-LL) 32.5 R demonstrates maximum resistance to environmental impacts through its ground blast furnace slag and limestone additive content while providing significant benefits to both the environment and the circular economy.
The product prevents thermal crack formation in mass concrete thanks to its low hydration heat. Alfacem, which has 50 percent lower carbon emissions value compared to Portland cement, contributes significantly to the 'Net-Zero' vision with this feature.
Environmentally conscious products being developed
The company, which exports to 85 countries including the United States, Russia, Israel, Romania and Morocco, has become one of the sector pioneers through its original projects aimed at reducing carbon dioxide emissions in both production processes and final products. To date, the company has increased alternative fuel usage in clinker production processes, the main source of carbon dioxide emissions, to 25 percent levels. The company reduces natural resource consumption through alternative raw material sources and industrial symbiosis while disposing of harmful waste to nature, contributing to the circular economy. The company also reduces indirect carbon emissions impacts through waste heat energy generation and solar energy projects.A world example in calcined clay technology
The cement company has become one of the pioneers in the global cement sector with low carbon footprint calcined clay technology. The calcined clay produced by the company, which has built cement plants with calcined clay integration, is known as a binder with a carbon footprint that can reach 90 percent lower compared to Portland clinker.Advertisement
