Solvay Introduces New Building Panels Portfolio
Solvay Introduces New Additive Manufacturing Build-Plate Portfolio
Solvay has unveiled its new portfolio of layered additive manufacturing (AM) build plates marketed under the company's Ajedium™ brand. Build plates are constructed on top of extruded AM filament layers or used as 3D-printed base surfaces in additive manufacturing processes.
The Ajedium™ Build Sheets produced by Solvay are compatible with 3D printers for fused deposition modeling (FDM), including vacuum and non-vacuum technologies. The build plates can be customized to any thickness and size to accommodate the specific dimensions of different 3D printers. These plates are also produced with adhesive backing to protect the build surface and prevent defects that may occur during the printing process.
Solvay offers Ajedium™ Build Sheets under its portfolio in a range of options that can be manufactured from different high-performance polymers such as Udel® PSU, Radel® PPSU and KetaSpire® PEEK. These build plates provide excellent rigidity and flatness, durability, thermal resistance and adhesion properties.
The broad portfolio allows designers to select the build sheet most compatible with their printing materials and printer heated chamber, while providing peace of mind that the sheet will not warp or crack during printing. Additionally, these build plates can be processed on the surface to further increase adhesion of the printed parts.
