Turkish Ytong Celebrates Its 59th Year in the Industry

Turkish Ytong celebrates its 59th anniversary in the building materials sector. Founded in 1963 and commencing production in 1965, the company has achieved world-leading status among countries manufacturing Ytong products, with 6 factories, 540 employees and annual production capacity of 2.5 million cubic meters today. Türk Ytong Board Chairman Fethi Hinginar made the following statement on the matter: "We have reached total production exceeding 40 million cubic meters in Turkey. This figure means approximately 3.5 million homes built. We remember with gratitude the founders of our company, as well as all those who contributed to Ytong, whether still living or no longer with us." Simultaneous ceremonies were held at Ytong's facilities in Antalya, Çatalca, Bilecik, Trakya and Dilovası, alongside the management center in Istanbul, for the 59th anniversary celebrations. At the ceremonies where company shareholders, executives and employees gathered, seniority awards were distributed to employees who served for extended periods under the Türk Ytong umbrella. Speaking at the ceremony in Istanbul, Türk Ytong Board Chairman Fethi Hinginar noted that when they set out as Türk Ytong in 1963, no one in Turkey's construction sector knew about autoclaved aerated concrete products, and since those years they have focused on explaining the advantages that Ytong provides in residential and industrial facilities. Hinginar continued his remarks as follows: "Ytong, with environment and energy-friendly, breathable, lightweight building materials, has pioneered the construction of healthy and safe homes in our country from day one. It has become the address of modernity, quality and innovation. We did not only provide services, we also put our shoulder to the wheel and produced. We created employment and added value. We set an example. This is both our success story and a matter of pride for our country's industrial production."

Türk Ytong Board Chairman Fethi Hinginar stated that as Türk Ytong they have witnessed all the changes that the world and Turkey have experienced over 59 years, and through the dedicated approach of their employees, they have continued working without pause since day one with the goal of creating a contemporary country and contemporary living spaces. Emphasizing that their greatest objective is to manufacture products that benefit the country, Hinginar continued as follows: "Our goal has been to understand what the needs of modern life are and to respond to them. Today, still with the enthusiasm and motivation of the first day, we work to ensure that homes, offices, schools, factories—in short, all the structures where we spend our lives—are created in a contemporary manner; to ensure that buildings are heated with minimal energy. Speaking at the meeting, Türk Ytong General Manager Tolga Öztoprak stated: "Despite rapidly increasing costs and economic uncertainties, in 2022 we fulfilled our commitments to our customers with the responsibility of being an established and reliable firm, achieved successful results and managed to complete the year 4% above our budget. The rapid measures we took in response to new market conditions and the strategies we developed enabled us to exceed our targeted results. On the other hand, we focused on digitalization, productivity initiatives, R&D activities and exports. With our new generation products that we have developed and will soon announce, and with our solutions that will meet the sector's needs, we are determined to maintain our leadership." he stated.
