As rising energy costs increase globally, thermal insulation in buildings to save energy has become increasingly important. Approximately 40 percent of Turkey's energy is used for heating residential buildings.

"Although thermal insulation measures have increased in structures built over the past fifteen years, the overall condition of the existing building stock does not look particularly good. The 2020 Income and Living Conditions Survey results published by TÜİK reveal that one of the most significant problems related to housing in our country is heating problems stemming from insulation deficiency. The survey showed that 36.7 percent of respondents cannot heat their homes due to insulation problems, and 34.7 percent of these experience problems due to leaking roofs, damp walls, and rotted window frames.
