Europe's largest paints and coatings manufacturers have been announced. Based on research examining turnover, export share and employee count, only Yaşar Holding from Turkey entered the rankings. Yaşar Holding became Europe's 22nd largest paints and coatings manufacturer. The list is headed by Netherlands-based Akzo Nobel. With 33,800 employees and turnover of EUR 9.28 billion, Akzo Nobel is Europe's largest. German BASF, with 11,500 employees, followed the Dutch company with EUR 3.75 billion. Third-ranked Norwegian Jotun, with 10,000 employees, stood out with EUR 1.67 billion. Danish Hempel ranked fourth with 6,300 employees and turnover of EUR 1.5 billion, while German Deutsche Amphibolin-Werke ranked fifth with EUR 1.3 billion in turnover. Yaşar Holding, which ranks 22nd on the list and owns the Dyo, Dewilux and Casati brands, has turnover of EUR 189 million. Yaşar Holding, which offers 1,200 different products, 3,500 packaging options and 60,000 different colours, has 1,090 employees according to the figures cited in the list.
