"Choose Packaged Foods"
Turkey's Association of Dairy, Meat, Food Manufacturers and Producers (SETBİR) has stated that in addition to public measures against coronavirus, personal precautions must also be taken, one of which is consuming packaged food. SETBİR:
The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) and the German Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR) confirm that there is no direct link between coronavirus and food consumption. However, if persons selling unpackaged food carry coronavirus, their coughing and sneezing could transmit the virus to food, and consumption of that food could subsequently pass the virus to other people. The World Health Organization reports that food produced in accordance with food hygiene rules and sufficiently cooked carries no coronavirus risk. Therefore, consuming packaged food produced by registered food manufacturers is another serious precaution against the virus. Our recommendation to consumers is to avoid unpackaged food sold in open-air markets and to consume packaged food produced under hygienic conditions." SourceAdvertisement
