We must develop our logistics infrastructure in line with our export targets
Ege İhracatçı Birlikleri Coordinator Chairman Jak Eskinazi, noting that Turkey has a five-year export target of USD 300 billion and that the Aegean Region aims to contribute USD 45 billion to this export figure, warned that Turkey's logistics infrastructure must receive investment to meet the 300 billion dollar export volume.
Underlining that the Turkish logistics sector must invest in human resources, ports, truck and vehicle fleets, Eskinazi stated, "After the pandemic, disruptions occurred in global supply chains. Freight rates increased by up to tenfold. Global preferences, especially in Europe, are shifting from the Far East to Turkey.
To meet this increase in demand, we must strengthen our logistics sector. The Logistics Center planned to be established in İzmir Kemalpaşa must be put into operation quickly, and we must turn İzmir into a logistics hub," he said.
