Avon's Strong Call in the Fight Against Breast Cancer: "The Power Is in Your Control"

We check countless things every day. Before leaving home, we make sure we have our keys and lipstick with us, and on average we check our phones 58 times a day. But do we perform regular breast self-examinations? Avon reminds all women with the message "Power in Control" of this simple yet critical life-saving step: regular self-examination.

Breast cancer, one of the most common cancer types globally, led to 2.3 million women receiving a diagnosis in 2022 and 670,000 women losing their lives. Early detection plays a critical role in increasing treatment success and chances of survival.

Over 30 years of uninterrupted efforts
Avon, one of the leading brands in the personal care and cosmetics sector, has positioned the fight against breast cancer for over 30 years as one of its top priority areas of social responsibility. It continues its work to help women get to know their own bodies, understand their own "normal," and recognize the early signs of breast cancer.

According to the Boob Census Research conducted by Avon with more than 7,000 women from 7 countries, 39% of survey participants do not check their breasts regularly because they forget. Drawing on these findings, Avon reminds us of the importance of including breast self-examination in daily routine: "Perform your self-breast examination before checking your lipstick or your phone."

Support for Turkish Cancer Society
Throughout October, Avon Turkey will donate all proceeds from sales of its Coconut Oil Body Lotion and Coconut Oil Hand Cream to Turkish Cancer Society. Through this partnership, the aim is to broaden awareness and expand efforts for early detection.

Supporting millions of women to discover their power
To date, Avon has donated over USD 951 million globally toward the fight against breast cancer, provided breast health education to 180 million women, and provided resources for 20 million breast cancer screenings. Through this, it has supported millions of women in discovering their own power.
