Novo Nordisk launches 'Healthy Child Movement' worldwide through partnership with UNICEF In collaboration with UNICEF, Novo Nordisk works globally to create healthy environments for children. Through the 'Healthy Child Movement', Novo Nordisk will provide funding for ideas that increase children's chances of proper nutrition, active living and mental wellbeing in their environments. The initiative also aims to reduce health inequalities.

USD 100,000 to be Awarded to Three Best Ideas

The 'Healthy Child Movement' was launched in May, and the program will involve two selection rounds. Following the first round in June, a second round will take place in October. Three ideas will be selected by the end of the second round. The three winning ideas will be announced on World Children's Day in November. Communities and organizations worldwide can submit proposals through an online platform. Novo Nordisk will award USD 100,000 to the owners of the three most innovative and best ideas selected, to implement their projects.

Invites Everyone to Share Creative Ideas for Children

Dr. Burak Cem, Vice President and General Manager of Novo Nordisk Turkey, invited everyone who wants to be part of the solution to share their creative ideas for children. Cem stated: "Disease prevention is part of Novo Nordisk's core commitment. Childhood is a crucial opportunity to create a lasting difference in a person's health. For this reason, we are seeking new, innovative solutions and creative partnerships that support healthy environments for our children. We invite all public and private institutions, civil society organizations and groups, and everyone with innovative ideas for this purpose to participate in the competition."

"A Necessity to be Addressed from a Societal Perspective"

Jo Jewell, UNICEF Nutrition Specialist, made the following statement regarding the Healthy Child Movement. Jewell said: "Many children live in environments where unhealthy foods are widespread and heavily marketed, and where opportunities for active play and physical activity are limited. Children in poor areas in particular often have more difficult access to safe and natural spaces and nutritious food. Creating opportunities for children to be well-nourished, active and maintain healthy weight is a necessity to be addressed from a societal perspective. Everywhere in the world, we must think of unconventional, new and creative ways to ensure children have a healthy start to life as communities."
