Sanofi and TÜSEB Announce Strong Collaboration for Clinical Research Ecosystem

Sanofi has launched a new cooperation process with the Turkish Health Institutes Presidency (TÜSEB) as part of the AkademiKA – Good Clinical Practices Training Program, which it has been running since 2003. The cooperation aims to increase knowledge sharing in the field of clinical research, strengthen awareness of good clinical practice standards, and enhance interaction among stakeholders.

Sanofi has launched a new collaboration process with Turkey's Health Institutes Presidency (TÜSEB) as part of the AkademiKA – Good Clinical Practice Training Programme, which it has been conducting since 2003. Within the scope of the collaboration, the aims are to increase knowledge sharing in the field of clinical research, strengthen awareness of good clinical practice standards, and develop interaction among stakeholders.

While AkademiKA is intended to reach a wider sphere of influence with TÜSEB's contributions, the development of competent human resources in Turkey's clinical research field and support for alignment with international standards are also among priority objectives.

AkademiKA, a strong reference point in clinical research
The AkademiKA – Good Clinical Practice Training Programme, conducted under Sanofi's leadership for 23 years, stands out as one of Turkey's longest-running educational platforms in the field of clinical research.

The programme has reached approximately 4,000 people through 78 different training sessions held in Turkey to date. AkademiKA has also evolved into a regional structure encompassing over 600 participants from the Middle East and Central Asia regions.

Conducted with approvals from the Turkish Republic Ministry of Health and the United Arab Emirates Ministry of Health, the programme addresses numerous topics including good clinical practice standards, ethical procedures, research design, volunteer safety, scientific publishing, and the use of artificial intelligence in clinical research.

"We must support scientific strength with sustainable competence"
Cem Öztürk, Sanofi Eurasia Region President, made the following remarks regarding the collaboration:

"The transformation underway in the scientific world requires continuous strengthening of the knowledge base, ethical approach, and human resources that will guide the processes of developing new treatments. Clinical research has become one of the most critical areas shaping the future of health systems today. As Sanofi Turkey, we attach importance to transforming Turkey into a stronger research and science centre on a regional scale through clinical research, scientific collaborations, and innovation investments. We view AkademiKA as one of the important building blocks of this vision."

Umut Müren, Director of Sanofi Turkey and Middle East Clinical Research Unit, made the following assessment:
"This collaboration, which we launched on World Clinical Research Day on 20 May, is an important indicator of our commitment in this field. Clinical research forms a critical part of the R&D value chain in bringing innovative treatments to patients. We consider it among our priority responsibilities to contribute to Turkey's clinical research ecosystem through long-term programmes such as AkademiKA."

Quality and safety focus in clinical research
Clinical research plays a critical role in developing innovative treatments, accelerating scientific progress, and ensuring patient access to new therapies. The conduct of these processes in accordance with ethical principles and international standards is of great importance both for patient safety and research quality.

Within the scope of the collaboration initiated with TÜSEB, it is aimed to expand AkademiKA with broader stakeholder participation and to contribute to Turkey's competitive strength in clinical research and research infrastructure.
