Assan Panel Starts Production of Innovative New Product

Kibar Holding subsidiary Assan Panel has begun production of innovative new products at its Azerbaijan facility, which commenced operations in 2021. The product, introduced for use in the horticulture sector, is expected to gain traction in the Turkic Republics and Russian markets. Assan Panel, which supplies products and solutions to various sectors including construction, tourism, agriculture and healthcare through its developed offerings, has started manufacturing new products at its Azerbaijan facility, which came online in 2021 as part of its first Turkic Republics investment. According to the announcement, polycarbonate sheets used primarily in horticulture as well as advertising and construction sectors, which are in high demand in the Turkish, Russian, Turkic Republics and European markets, provide superior resistance to wear caused by UV radiation with high performance. The product, which provides thermal and structural benefits with maximum light transmission performance, also contributes to sustainability. In addition to supplying sheets for greenhouse applications, the company serves as a solutions partner for sector stakeholders, from climate conditions in the production region to the characteristics of plants to be grown, and from construction details to the thickness of greenhouse covering material to be used.

Greenhouse heating costs decline, efficiency increases

The company, which has been producing polycarbonate sheets used together with insulated panels for roof and façade lighting at its facility in Istanbul since 2013, manufactures polycarbonate sheets suitable for the horticulture sector, which it has newly begun producing, in double or multiple layers. The product, a transparent layer greenhouse covering material with air gaps between its layers and featuring uniform light distribution, has 70 percent light transmittance. In addition to being protected against harmful UV radiation, it functions with less support structure due to being lighter than glass. The product, which reduces greenhouse heating costs through high light and heat transmittance, also contributes to faster plant growth.
