The Future of Automation Looks Bright FANUC Turkey General Manager Teoman Alper Yiğit stated that in response to global uncertainty, they continue to develop 360-degree services for factory automation in production machinery, noting that the changes created by global crises in the industrial robot market are making the future of automation even brighter. Recent economic and geopolitical developments are creating a driving force for manufacturers across different sectors to make automation investments. Despite economic pressures such as inflation, recession and rising energy prices, growth in the automation sector continues to accelerate. Companies prioritize automation to support onshoring

Noting that significant developments have taken place among some manufacturers for localization of production as a result of supply chain problems continuing since the pandemic period, Yiğit made the following comments on the matter: "The primary reason for moving production abroad was cheap labor. However, as production is being brought back to more developed countries where wages are higher and hiring for heavy labor is more difficult, companies are placing emphasis on automation to support onshoring. As a natural result of this situation, R&D work on robot technologies is accelerating. The trend we see today among our customers in the EU and Europe is in this direction. For FANUC, the US, Europe, China and Asia are among extremely important markets. In terms of sales, the Chinese and European markets remain indispensable as the most technologically advanced markets in the world."  

European manufacturers prefer high reliability!

Yiğit, saying that working closely with FANUC's customers in Europe, listening to them and understanding the challenges they face helps them develop products that are the most technologically advanced, continued as follows: "The demands of our customers in Europe also support high reliability, which is one of our key differentiating features. The basic expectation of our customers in Europe is to use our products trouble-free for many years. To meet these expectations and maintain long-term relationships, FANUC designs our products to be reliable, predictable and easy to repair. While this is vital for our customers in Europe, essentially all FANUC customers worldwide also benefit from this."

Drawing attention to the fact that automation demand in China is particularly strong in sectors such as the emerging electric vehicle (EV) market, Yiğit stated, "The current global economic situation prevents us from drawing clear conclusions about the future. On the other hand, demand for industrial automation remains high across all manufacturing sectors and all regions. Today's industrial robots, supported by new innovations such as cobots and artificial intelligence (AI) technology, offer top-level reliability thanks to ease of use. As a solution for increasing efficiency rates, guaranteeing consistent production, reducing labor shortages and lowering operating expenses, automation is a proven path to success in manufacturing."
