Akçansa and Akademi Çevre Form Strategic Partnership Focused on Sustainability

Akçansa has signed a 10-year strategic partnership with Akademi Çevre, an organization operating in recycling and environmental management, to establish a 60,000 ton/year capacity Waste-Derived Fuel (WDF) facility. The fuel produced is expected to save 130,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions.

Akçansa, a joint venture of Sabancı Holding and Heidelberg Materials, operates under the principle of "responsible work for the future" and focuses on creating broad and comprehensive positive impact ranging from reducing environmental footprint to generating social benefit, enriching its work through partnerships it implements.

The company has signed a 10-year partnership with Akademi Çevre, one of the sector's leading firms in waste management and recycling services, for the establishment of a Waste-Derived Fuel facility. According to the agreement, a 60,000 ton/year capacity Waste-Derived Fuel (WDF) Preparation Facility will be operated under the project. The facility began operations as of October 2025. The fuel produced is expected to save 130,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions during the contract period.
