Dardanel Invests $4.35 Million in Solar Power Plant

Dardanel is preparing to meet the electricity consumption of its production processes from renewable sources through a solar power plant investment with a total installed capacity of 10,220 mWp. The Land-Based Solar Power Plant, to be built on a 112,214 m² site owned by Dardanel Önentaş in İskilip, Çorum, with 16,484 panels, is planned to be commissioned in June. Once the investment is completed, the entire annual electricity requirement of the Dardanel Önentaş Facility will be met from renewable energy sources.

Dardanel is preparing to meet electricity consumption during production processes from renewable sources through a solar energy plant investment with a total installed capacity of 10,220 mWp. A Land-Based Solar Energy Plant with 16,484 panels to be built on 112,214 m² of land owned by Dardanel Önentaş in Çorum's İskilip district is planned to be commissioned in June. With the completion of the investment, all of Dardanel Önentaş Facility's annual electricity needs will be supplied from renewable energy sources.

Dardanel, Turkey's fish and seafood products specialist, continues to implement renewable energy investments in line with its sustainability vision and energy transition goals. Dardanel concluded an investment agreement for USD 4,350,000 + VAT for the Land-Based Solar Energy Plant (GES) project to be implemented in the İskilip district of Çorum. The investment was financed through Turkish Eximbank. With this investment, Dardanel will meet electricity consumption during production processes from renewable energy sources.

The project will be built on a total of 112,214 m² of land and will use 16,484 solar panels. The plant's installed capacity will be 10,220 mWp (10.22 MWp). The investment process has begun and the project is planned to be commissioned in June. Upon completion of the investment, it is aimed to increase Dardanel's renewable energy usage rate and contribute to reducing its carbon footprint. Through the project, it is planned to significantly reduce carbon emissions and bring renewable energy usage rate in production to higher levels. Increasing green energy use and strengthening responsible production practices are among the project's main environmental gains. Dardanel has set its investment budget for the energy transition for the coming period at USD 9 million.

New Era in Renewable Energy Use
With the completion of the project, the electricity to be generated will meet all of Dardanel Önentaş Facility's annual electricity consumption. Thus, Dardanel's renewable energy usage rate will increase significantly, while a notable reduction will be achieved in indirect emissions from electricity. This step represents an important milestone in the company's objective to reduce carbon intensity from operational activities.

The investment in question makes the cost structure more robust and predictable while supporting energy supply security. At the same time, it is positioned as an infrastructure investment that supports long-term sustainable growth strategy.

Dardanel plans to continue its investments that increase operational efficiency and support environmental sustainability in the coming period, and aims to implement renewable energy investments progressively across other companies within the group.
