ebebek reduced Category 1 Direct Greenhouse Gas Emissions by 25.1% in 2023 compared to the previous year and has invested more than TRY 3.5 million in sustainability projects to date. Aiming to significantly reduce solid waste generation by 2030 through waste prevention, reduction, recycling and reuse, the brand supports nature conservation through projects such as "Packaging Recycling Piggy Bank", "baby me Detergent Refill Station" and "From Me to My Sibling Recycling Basket".

R&D projects deliver efficiency and optimization in operations

ebebek Group CEO Halil Erdoğmuş, stating that they have realized leading sustainability activities while also improving economic performance in line with strategy and objectives, said: "We have invested more than TRY 3.5 million in R&D activities conducted by a team of 51 people. As a result, we have developed projects named Sales Forecasting Adjusted by Product and Discount Rates (What-If) and Product Age Processing (P-A-P). We are also continuing our Artificial Intelligence Sales Forecasting, Gamification and Software Test Automation projects. Real-time operational efficiency and optimization are among our priorities with these R&D-supported projects."

1,887 packaging units recycled to date

Erdoğmuş, noting that they are directing business processes by placing emphasis on recycling and reuse, which are among the foundations of sustainability, said: "Within the scope of Responsible Production and Consumption, one of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, we aim to significantly reduce solid waste generation by 2030 through waste prevention, reduction, recycling and reuse. Accordingly, with our Packaging Recycling Piggy Bank project launched with the motto 'Less plastic for your baby, a cleaner future!' we are working to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, increase recycling rates and contribute to the circular economy. Through our project, plastic, glass and metal packaging products purchased from ebebek can be recycled. To date we have recycled 1,887 packaging units in our project, with a year-end target of recycling 3,000 packaging units."

10,068 plastic bottles saved from becoming waste

Erdoğmuş, noting that with the baby me Detergent Refill Station project launched under the slogan "A Waste-Free World for Future Babies" they have saved 10,068 plastic bottles from becoming waste, said: "Through this project, we offer refill options for our in-house brand baby me's products such as detergent and fabric softener. This way parents can refill detergents at refill stations in selected stores at a 30% discount at more affordable prices. With this project, which supports environmental sustainability and encourages parents who want to adopt an eco-friendly lifestyle, we have reached 2,400 unique users to date. The number of parents choosing this project, which also contributes to family budgets through savings, is growing every day."

Clothing and toys regained value for earthquake region

Addressing the "From Me to My Sibling Recycling Basket" project through which they create both environmental and social value, Erdoğmuş provided the following information: "Through this project where we adopt the circular economy model, we collect unused baby clothes and toys and make them available for families with babies in need. Following the earthquakes we experienced in 2023, which caused deep sorrow for all of us, we provided support by sending 38,734 products collected under the From Me to My Sibling Recycling Basket project to families with babies in need in the earthquake region."

25.1% reduction achieved in Category 1 Direct Greenhouse Gas Emissions

Erdoğmuş, stating "We are aware that our overall environmental impacts are not only related to our direct operations but also result from our indirect activities," noted that they have taken steps in both environmental management and emissions management dimensions to make supply processes more sustainable while considering the entire value chain.  Erdoğmuş said: "Since 2022, we calculate the emissions data disclosed as a result of our activities and announce the results we obtain to the public. We are pleased to share that in 2023 we achieved a reduction of 25.1% in our Category 1 Direct Greenhouse Gas Emissions compared to our previous reporting year."
