Eti Bakır Receives Accreditation Certificate
Eti Bakır Obtains Accreditation Certificate
The Quality Control Laboratory located at Eti Bakır's Mazıdağı Metal Recovery and Integrated Fertilizer Facilities has met the necessary international competencies and obtained an accreditation certificate from the Turkish Accreditation Body (TÜRKAK).
With the accreditation certificate, Eti Bakır takes its place in the world league, further strengthening its production capability and leading position in international markets.
The Quality Control Laboratory at Eti Bakır's Mazıdağı Metal Recovery and Integrated Fertilizer Facility, which was commissioned in 2018, has received IEC 17025 accreditation from the Turkish Accreditation Body (TÜRKAK). With this certificate, the analysis reports of the Quality Control Laboratory will now have international validity.
Emre Kayışoğlu, General Manager of Eti Bakır's Mazıdağı Metal Recovery and Integrated Fertilizer Facility, emphasizing that they own the world's only facility that recovers metal from pyrite concentrate now produced as a byproduct in copper production, underlined that the accreditation certificate they have been working on for a long time will further strengthen the company's production capability and leading position.
Kayışoğlu, stating that the Quality Control Laboratory, which was established to provide the best response to analysis requests from the facilities, has now achieved international standards with the TÜRKAK accreditation certificate, said: "Our laboratory, equipped with the latest technology devices and systems, has the capability to perform analysis on 123 parameters from raw materials to semi-finished and finished products.
Here we can perform analyses on raw materials such as natural gas, pyrite and phosphate, intermediate process products, DAP and NP fertilizers, and finished products such as cathode copper, zinc and cobalt carbonate. The Quality Control Laboratory supports product development by performing final analyses of cobalt and zinc derivatives that our R&D Laboratory within the facility is working on.
With the accreditation certificate, we will be able to perform analyses for other players in the mining and fertilizer sectors beyond our own needs and provide international certificates," he explained.
Kayışoğlu, stating that the accreditation certificate will remove technical barriers focused on product quality in international trade and increase competitiveness in the global economy, continued as follows:
"With this certificate, which will eliminate non-tariff difficulties through mutual recognition agreements between countries, we have become members of international organizations such as the European Accreditation Cooperation, the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation and the International Accreditation Forum. We want to make Mardin one of the world's leading centers in strategic metals and rare elements, particularly cobalt and zinc, and an indispensable business partner for sectors serving high technology. This newly acquired accreditation certificate will make a major contribution to this goal. I thank all colleagues who contributed to this challenging process."Advertisement
