PepsiCo Announces 2025 ESG Performance

PepsiCo announced its 2025 environmental, social and governance (ESG) performance in line with its “PepsiCo Positive (pep+)” 2030 goals. Sharing its progress in climate, agriculture, nutrition, packaging, water management and social initiatives, the company reported that it met 96% of its global electricity needs from renewable energy sources and implemented regenerative, restorative and protective agricultural practices on 4.7 million acres (approximately 19 million decares) of farmland.

İstanbul, September 11, 2026 – PepsiCo shared its ESG performance for 2025 with the public. In the report, which conveyed progress toward its 2030 goals under the “PepsiCo Positive (pep+)” approach, efforts in the fight against climate change, sustainable agriculture, nutrition, packaging, water management and social impact came to the forefront.

PepsiCo Chairman and CEO Ramon Laguarta stated that the sustainability efforts aim to strengthen the company's long-term resilience, and expressed that with the pep+ approach, they aim to create a structure that adapts to changing consumer expectations, supports growth, and contributes to the protection of critical resources.

PepsiCo Chief Sustainability Officer Jim Andrew noted that progress has been made in many areas, ranging from expanding the scope of regenerative, restorative and protective agricultural practices to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and transforming the product portfolio.

PepsiCo announced the reductions achieved in greenhouse gas emissions under different scopes as of 2025, using 2022 as the baseline.

According to the data shared by the company

Scope 1 and 2 emissions decreased by 24%

Scope 3 Energy and Industry emissions decreased by 12%

Scope 3 Forest, Land and Agriculture emissions decreased by 18%

reductions were achieved.

In 2025, PepsiCo met 96% of its global electricity needs, at approximately 4,300 GWh, from renewable energy sources. The use of renewable energy certificates was also included in this reporting scope.

The company also collaborated with Yara International to enable 1,000 farms, covering approximately 128,000 hectares of agricultural land in the European Union and the United Kingdom, to benefit from low-carbon fertilizers and precision agriculture technologies.

In order to reduce emissions from logistics operations in Mexico, 1,070 Ford E-Transit electric vehicles were added to the delivery fleet.

PepsiCo also continued its efforts to reduce the amount of sugar, sodium and saturated fat in its product portfolio.

In 2025, 68% of the company's beverage portfolio reached the goal of not exceeding 100 calories from added sugar per 12 ounces.

In the convenient foods portfolio, the proportion of products reaching the limit of 1.3 milligrams of sodium per calorie was 79%. The company announced that 49% of its global convenient foods portfolio volume already meets its 2030 sodium targets.

For saturated fat, while the 2025 target was 75%, the realized rate was 79%.

In 2025, PepsiCo offered a total of 79 billion servings of products prepared from various ingredients such as whole grains, plant-based proteins, fruits and vegetables. The company aims to increase this figure to 145 billion servings annually by 2030.

PepsiCo expanded the scope of regenerative, restorative and protective agricultural practices under its Positive Agriculture approach.

The company announced that it implemented these practices on 4.7 million acres, approximately 19 million decares, of farmland.

It was noted that approximately 224,000 people and communities were supported through various programs across agricultural supply chains, and that these efforts have been ongoing since 2021 to increase economic prosperity and improve the safety of farmers and agricultural workers.

PepsiCo also announced that reporting on its deforestation- and land conversion-free supply targets will be published after the completion of methodology and data verification processes.

PepsiCo announced that it used a total of 2 million tons of plastic, including primary packaging, in key packaging markets in 2025.

The company reported that it reduced the amount of virgin plastic used in primary plastic packaging by 6% during the 2024-2025 period, and that 18% of the plastic used in 2025 was recycled content.

Within the scope of water management, PepsiCo aims to achieve 100% water replenishment at its own facilities located in high water-risk watersheds and to implement the Alliance for Water Stewardship (AWS) Standard.

In 2025, the company supported more than 60 active water replenishment projects, contributing to the replenishment of approximately 35 billion liters of water in local watersheds.

In the social dimension of its ESG approach, PepsiCo continued its efforts focused on employees, business partners and communities.

The company's 2025 ESG reporting included data on employment, professional development, volunteering, participation in social projects and various social impact indicators.

PepsiCo stated that it will continue to monitor and report on its sustainability goals and performance under the pep+ approach.
