Turkish Textile Sector Focuses on Green Production
TİM Textile and Raw Materials Sector Council Chair Kileci stated that renewable energy investments in Turkey and the incentives offered by relevant ministries for sustainable production are encouraging, and that green production will be prioritized.
Ahmet Fikret Kileci, Chair of the Textile and Raw Materials Sector Council at Turkey's Exporters Assembly (TİM), said in a written statement that the Turkish textile sector is taking necessary steps to not lag behind in the global green transformation journey.
Emphasizing the importance of environmentally-friendly production in textile exports, Kileci stated: "As our global resources are limited and this constraint reminds humanity of the need to take precautions on certain matters, awareness regarding environmentally-conscious production and sustainable technologies has also increased."
Kileci drew attention to the fact that production approaches in the future will be built entirely on sustainability and environmental themes.
Kileci, stating that companies failing to adapt to this production approach will suffer losses, continued:
"Industrialists and even countries that do not keep pace with this approach will be eliminated from international trade markets. We are aware of this situation and will do what falls upon us. The renewable energy investments in our country and the incentives offered by relevant ministries for sustainable production are quite encouraging. As the TİM Textile and Raw Materials Sector Council, we were the first sector to put forward the Sustainability Action Plan, and we are aware of our responsibilities. We must intensify our efforts for the green transformation of our sector starting today. We view the European Green Deal not as a crisis but as an opportunity. I am fully confident that Turkish textiles will be a shining star in this field when the state and we industrialists remain committed to a joint action plan." SourceAdvertisement
