According to an analysis titled Global Growth Opportunities in Hot Melt Adhesives recently published by Frost & Sullivan, the hot melt adhesives (HMA) market is expected to expand significantly through 2028 due to the advantages it provides to customers across different sectors. HMAs offer numerous advantages over other adhesive formulations, including faster drying and curing, low volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions, and cost-effectiveness. Global HMA market revenue of USD 9.03 billion in 2021 is expected to rise to USD 13.81 billion by 2028, growing at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 6.3%. Ganesh Dabholkar, Research Analyst for Chemicals, Materials and Food at Frost & Sullivan, stated: "The rise of sustainability as a mega trend presents challenges in HMA product development. However, HMA manufacturers' commitment to developing bio-based chemicals over the next two to three years will reduce carbon footprints and promote sustainability without compromising production process efficiency." Dabholkar added: "Firms in the HMA market are responding to customer demands such as bio-based formulations and heat-resistant products, prompting them to expand their product portfolios and evaluate new markets. This will help these firms establish long-term pricing contracts and strategic partnerships with local and regional distributors, while ensuring import security, supply chain efficiency, and local inventory management for raw materials." According to the analysis, firms in the HMA sector should take the following steps to capitalize on growth expectations: Invest in research and development (R&D) efforts and develop products that can effectively withstand the negative impact of high operating temperatures on bond strength. Develop solutions and chemicals that enable recycling of bonded products such as furniture or packaging, supporting a circular economy. Conduct strategic acquisitions to develop new business/product segments and enter new markets by leveraging established regional distribution networks through an inorganic growth strategy. Global Growth Opportunities in Hot Melt Adhesives, the latest in Frost & Sullivan's Chemicals, Materials and Food research and analysis, helps companies build continuous growth processes to succeed in an uncertain future.
