Experts note that to meet children's daily milk requirements, lunch boxes should not be without a carton of milk every day. Milk, which supports mental and physical development, has undeniable benefits for the human body. Students who spend their days at school strengthen their immune systems by drinking milk and protect themselves from illnesses as winter months approach. Experts say that two glasses of milk should be consumed daily to increase body resistance and maintain healthy nutrition. Prof. Dr. Neriman İnanç, Head of the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics at Nuh Naci Yazgan University Faculty of Health Sciences, stated that two glasses of milk daily is of great importance for intellectual development and that it has been proven to improve school performance. İnanç said: "To be adequately and well-nourished, we need to consume from each food group. Among the food groups consisting of milk, meat, grains, fruits, vegetables, fats and sugars, only milk contains carbohydrates, proteins and fats that are effective in energy production together. Besides providing energy, milk is also very important for the immune system. With seasonal changes, weakening of the immune system results in an increase in upper respiratory tract infections, while the consumption of milk, which contains more than 40 nutrients, plays an important role in preventing diseases such as influenza, common cold and pharyngitis."
